So after four years I'm finally down to one. Plans got derailed by getting the promotion that I started the journey for in the first place... Anyway I kinda wanna finish before the end of the calendar year. I'm up for another promotion and would like to have this finished this time.
My only problem is that I can't find a testing center open between now and the end of the year. If anyone knows where I can take one CLEP between now and December 31st I'd be very grateful!!!

Looking at the CLEP test locations in DFW it looks like you've got a bunch of public schools, which will probably be closed / unavailable, and Devry University in FW, which would probably offer the most flexibility. I'd try them.
I m edumakated thanx to distunce lerning.

The DeVry campus in Houston does not charge an administrative fee for testing. Strayer University does. Both are good options.

I take my tests at the Northlake College campus in Irving. They have reasonable hours, and I am normally the only person in the testing center that is taking a CLEP or DANTES test.
Here is the URL to the testing center:
North Lake College: Testing Center
Today is the last day they are open until the first week of January!
Best of luck to you....

I received a private message from someone who apparently thought I stated that DeVry in Houston lets people test for free. In case anybody else doesn't understand the difference between an exam fee and an administrative fee, here is the search page for CLEP Test Centers:
CLEP Test Center Search
Notice that it clearly states: "In addition to the exam fee, most test centers charge a nonrefundable administration fee directly payable to the institution."
As of today, a CLEP exam fee is $77, a DSST exam fee $80. If you take one of those exams, you will pay that exam fee. Period. There is no free lunch. Some exams have, for example, an essay component that may increase the total cost of the exam.
Whatever the cost of the exam is, there can be an additional administrative fee imposed by the testing center. For example, a CLEP exam fee is payable to CLEP. If you take the test at, for example, Strayer University, you will have to pay an administrative fee (currently $20) to Strayer. In 2010, DeVry in Houston did not charge an administrative fee.
An administrative fee is the extra revenue the test center imposes that they feel they need to make administering an exam profitable. I have paid up to $35 dollars for an administrative fee and as low as $0.
