I did the same thing last week. I signed up for a test at the testing center and decided on Info Systems when I got there. I'm generally pretty techie, but not a professional.
I found that most of the questions were and sort of logical, although about 10% were borderline ridiculous and nonsensical.
This should not be a hard pass even for someone with little tech background if they use IC.
For reference I think my score was a 75.

Cool man.
Now the last thing I want to do is to lull people into a false sense of security so by all means, study the instant cert flashcards.
But when I looked over the flashcards they were so simple I just couldn't bring myself to go through them all when I have more important tests to study.

I would add that this test might be hard for those who haven't lived through the past 25 years or so of computing history. A lot of the questions on the test are ancient.

You're asking US?!?! :roflol:
The best advice I could give you is to take the exam very slowly. The answer that looks most correct probably is, even if it isn't a part of your prior knowledge.

I took this test in June and wasn't an InstantCert member at the time. I used this cd I got from Amazon - CLEP / AP Courseware - Information Systems & Computer Applications [CD-ROM]
and I used the practice test that you can purchase from the College Board website. Good luck!

Yeah don't ask me how to study for it since I did zero studying.
I can't even tell you if the IC cards match.
