A website called code.org has links to many free programming tutorials. Some of the resources are KhanAcademy, Coursera, codeacademy, and many others. It seems like a great hub for anyone wanting to learn some basic computer programming. It has many celebrity supporters encouraging users to try "An Hour of Code."

I'm thinking of trying this out, I've always wanted to learn to code. I could do some Visual Basic back in high school but that's about it. This seems like something that could really work for a lot of people. At the very least, it'll spark interest in younger people.

I love CodeAcademy, but the darn thing keeps freezing up halfway through the lessons. It gets so bad that you literally have to refresh the screen (which sends you back to the beginning) and then flip through until you find the lesson you were on. Very aggravating. That being said, it's still free

For another great resource, check out the Microsoft Virtual Academy. They appear to have some great resources.
