Omega Math... Anyone Know of this?
#1
Has anyone heard of or used Omega Math?

Omega Math - Online Remedial & Transferable Classes

Omega Math has been providing online courses since 1996 and is affiliated with US University, Brandman, Woodbury and Cal Poly State University.
These universities are regionally accredited by WASC.

Omega Math offers remedial and transferable courses to individuals, K-12 schools & districts, colleges & universities. Take one course with us or several, and transfer the credits back to your home college.

Omega Math is the teacher of the courses and your official transcript with academic semester credits will come from one of the above universities. Since Omega Math is just the teacher, we do not appear on the transcript. Taking a course through this program does not require being enrolled in the university, anyone can receive the credits for these classes!

Omega Math has become a primary source for students of all ages to discover the enjoyment of learning Math.

YEEHAW!! I need Anatomy, Physiology, and Microbiology with labs and they have it here! I looked at the lab part done through Pearsons Mastering A and P.com and it looks fabulous! I am so excited. The cost at right around $500 per class (4 units) is wonderful! The best part is that I'm not tied to a specific schedule like I would be through Clovis.

Thank you!

yeah this could be a good thing, let me know how it goes if you try it. I'm looking to do some high level math in a few months.

I just looked up their accreditation and it says that they are accredited but on probation so keep an eye on that.

Where did you see the probation part?

When receiving the credits/units, Omega Math is just the teacher on record; Omega Math does not show up on the universities transcript.

Transcript from US University, Brandman University or Woodbury -
Students receives an official transcript from the university, academic semester credits and a letter grade. View the prices on the registration page.

Sorry I forgot to specify.... US University has their accreditation on probation which is the school that transcribes the math courses.

What about brandman and Woodbury?

If you look at the pricing page, it tells you which courses are transcribed by which university. USU transcribes most of the courses.

Did you ever take micro? My advisor at SDSU says they will accept micro through Omega Math , just wondering how well designed the lessons were in relation to passing quiz and final.

Interesting. If I knew about this a year or two ago I would have weighed their real analysis course against the few other options out there. I don't think it is much cheaper than Chadron State (where I did analysis1) but it is half the price of University of Idaho's Engineering Outreach course (where I am taking my last class). Always good to see more options for higher maths! Smile
