I have an MCSE from probably 2000 or 2001. Did tests on both NT4 and Win2k. I searched on "MCSE" and found a number of references to the old stuff (Win2k) getting credit (at least at EC) and the newer stuff NOT getting credit. Is this still the case?
I have an AA in General Studies from a Community College that I received in 1991 or 1992. Will something this old be accepted by any of the Big 3?
I am happy to read the stuff to which you point me.
Thanks.

COSC accepted my credits from the early 90's and TESC has accepted DH's credits from the late 80's so I think you'll probably be ok, but of course they have the final say...
Edit to add another thought: I would recommend figuring out which of the big 3 you want to go to and apply there assuming that they will accept your AA. Part of the application fee is for them to evaluate past credits and let you know which ones they'll use towards your bachelors. Yes, you have to pay the fee but it's under $100 and you'll have to pay it anyhow to go to that school.

Welcome to the forum!
Yes, lots of old credits are transferable to EC. Here is info about the policy:

If you don't get a further response, the Student Guide to Credit by Exam should have info about MCSE toward the back:

I had some credits from 1972 (even a D) taken by TESC in 2008 so I don't think you will have any problems with your credits. I don't know about your certs. but this link shows what TESC takes and for how many credits.

Thomas Edison (TESC) gives 10 credits for the MSCE regardless of when it was earned. They might even qualify as upper level

The maximum for IT vendors certifications at EC is 9 credits, and they have to be 10 years old or newer. Last I checked. nothing newer then MCSE 2003 was worth credit, none of the MCITP were worth any credits.

Assuming I am reading this correctly, and the fact that I didn't find anything about the age of the certification, I would have the following:

Well, I could fall under either of the following.
Professional + Internet (MCP+Internet) 5
Systems Engineer (MCSE) 10
My MCSE has expired, and there is no mention here about that. I certainly still have the appropriate documentation to show that I achieved it. Would I likely get to use both or is the smaller one likely to be a part of the larger one?

That's great!
According to the first link in my other post, there is a 10-year limit which can be appealed during application for some degrees.
If you are going for a degree in the school of Liberal Arts, you may not even need to appeal. Be sure to ask EC, but here is a post:
http://www.degreeforum.net/excelsior-tho...#post72776
Also, you should be able to use all of them for a degree in the school of Liberal Arts at EC. (They would go in the Applied Professional/Free Elective section.)
Degrees in the Schools of Business or Technology at EC may have a limit on the number of these credits that can be used.
