TESC Emergency Management Degree or any other I can knock out quickly.
#1
I just received my information back from TESC. This is for the Liberal Arts Degree so there will be some changes since I want to get more of the credits from FEMA and other Classes in Emergency Management worked into the degree.

I am currently taking: at will be done the first week of Dec.

HIST A341 History of Alaska
HIST A132 US History II

I have taken through the state ICS 300 and 400. and many more classes from then as well. I also have many corporate classes that are way more advanced technology wise in the semiconductor area.

I would like to get this done ASAP and would like any suggestions from anyone who can help.

I also have a another 60 credits from an un acredited college in Christian studies, not sure if I can apply them into a PLA of some kind or not.
#3
Has anyone else ever been able to bring in other classes from state emergency management?
#4
Where would these classes fall into my degree plan? I am also getting ready to CLEP out of Intro to world religions and am not sure where it would fit. Taking English 1 with TESC now since I need the help there in writing. According to TESC I am maxed out on my free electives, so that just leaves taking classes and clep/dantes tests.

Hi, welcome to the forum. IDK why you're not getting more replies. I'm a business major at EC, but I can tell you the PLA is usually not a good way to get credit. Cost & time not effective (build a portfolio and write papers--as much work as new credit) and no promise of credit.

There are 100+ ways to skin this cat at TESC regarding Emergency Management. I have way more information than I want to type into this little box.

You are however welcome to send me and email with your phone number, and I will be happy to discuss it with you.

Scroll down to CLEP and DANTES at this link:

It will tell you how TESC categorizes the exam subjects.

For instance, History is counted as Social Science at TESC and World Religions is counted as Humanities.

It also says that World Religions is 400-level. If they count Alaskan History as 300-level, you will want both of those subjects to go in the Upper-level section of your Liberal Studies credits.

US History II will probably be added to the General Ed electives section.

For a BA in Liberal Studies, it looks like you need to stick with subjects that fall into these categories - Humanities, Social Sciences,
Natural Sciences or Mathematics and make sure you get enough upper-level credits.

Starting Jan 2011 I will be taking:

Japanese I 4 credits
Western Civilization I 3 credits
Russian History 3 credits

I also just received 3 credits from FCC today so I will get them into TESC and UAA if they take them.

I am thinking about taking world religions in two weeks. I have done some of the flash cards and have been taking the petersons test prep for Intro to world religions. I have been scoring around 70% not sure if that is high enough yet.
