Was wondering if there is any advantage with Purdue U and what is difference with Global version.
I read Purdue U also allows transfer of many credits (with 32 to be taken with the Purdue itself). There are different degree programs that I do not see offered by other colleges. Has anyone here attended it?

There certainly is a difference. Whether that difference matters to you is really up to you.
Both are regionally accredited and Global is part of the Purdue University system. They are both accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
Purdue University (West Lafayette) has competitive admissions—average high school GPA for entering freshmen is 3.69. Purdue Global has non-competitive admissions and requires a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Purdue University’a business school is decently well regarded and is AACSB accredited; Global’s business school is ACBSP accredited and not well-regarded/ranked. I am not saying it is bad, but it isn’t showing up on lists and big employers don’t seem to be beating down the doors to hire Global graduates BECAUSE they are Global graduates.
Purdue University’s engineering school is considered among the best in the nation and the world. US News’ most recent rankings have it 4th in the US. Not saying such things are totally accurate, but Cal Tech is 7th on this list. Global doesn’t have an engineering school.
I am sure there are other comparisons that could be made as to academic reputation and ranking, these are just the ones that I know of.
So, what are you trying to do with your degree? Check a box for a job or grad program where academic reputation isn’t terrible important? Either should be fine. Chose the one that’s cheaper and works better for you. Trying to get a job in a field where academic ranking of your degree is really important or trying to get into a very competitive graduate program? Purdue University probably would be the better choice. But then, if you graduate Global with a 4.0’but could only manage a 3.0 at Purdue University, you might be better off with the Global degree.
All other things being equal, Purdue University has a better reputation, but that doesn’t mean it’s better for every student.
One last thought: Global started out as Kaplan University, a private, for-profit business. There may be some people (including employers and graduate programs) who may have a negative perception of Global because of its history. But then, many won’t know or won’t care.

Purdue University Global is not Purdue University. PUG makes that very clear. PUG is part of the Purdue University System. There are several campuses that make up the system. Each campus including Global issues their own diploma with that campus name on it. If you do not attend the West Lafayette campus then you did not attend Purdue University technically. Your diploma absolutely says Purdue University Global on it. PUG started out as Kaplan University so take what you want out of that. I will say the analytics degree from PUG allowed my husband a job change and a raise. He also have decades of industry experience. His manager encouraged him to attend PUG over TESU because of the Purdue name even though it isn't Purdue.

Yeah, just like a few universities with subsidiaries that they "bought" out and renamed; those subsidiaries are accredited as a different institution. An example would be the recent University of Arkansas - Grantham, they have a different accreditation for the institution they merged with. Grantham University just got renamed and is or should still be accredited as a subsidiary institution...

Thank you to all your replies, yea the engineering degree from Purdue U is very nice and pricing for in state tuition doesn't look too bad in comparison to other colleges.

Two different campuses. Like UT Austin and UT Dallas are part of the same university system (University of Texas), they are two different campuses. If you went to UT Dallas, and said you went to UT Austin that would be a lie. Same thing here. If you attend Purdue Global, and say you went to Purdue Univ, that would be a lie. The difference in prestige between them already noted by other posters here.

PUG is essentially a for-profit school wrapped in the veneer of a nonprofit.
Purdue entered into a long-term (30 year, maybe?) deal with the for-profit entity that was running Kaplan, so in many ways, it has all of the not-so-great things about for-profit schools: pushy enrollment specialists, curriculum and courses designed by an outsourced for-profit. The 30 year deal provides for the for-profit to get an enormous slice of revenue for the entire period.
That isn't automatically terrible, but it does mean that faculty have little input into what they are teaching, and all of the things that were not-great about Kaplan are likely to still be there, since it is largely a rebranding exercise.
I have a friend that is in a PUG masters program and he and a bunch of his classmates have encountered all sorts of issues and are considering switching schools.
Others have more positive reports, but personally, this trend of for profits selling themselves (in name only, for the most part) to nonprofit schools to gain an instant halo of legitimacy does not seem like something that's going to fly in the long term.

Here's another question to chew on.
1. Is it more of an advantage to ONLY have a Purdue University degree or
2. Is it more of an advantage to have a Purdue Unversity Global degree AND a master's degree from a top 50 college?
You could get that PUG degree likely within 1 year and that master's combined probably faster than doing a Purdue University degree by itself.

This is a really astute observation. Keeping one's eyes on the long-term goal.
