I think it's a bit strange that new students get 3 credits 100% free and continuing students only get 3 credits free if you register for other classes. Seems a bit backward, but what do I know?

This seems interesting, it's just a free class for either new students or returning students who are taking 9 credits or more... it's still a free class either way, you have to take more classes for returning students. It's a good deal for those who are looking for a specific class they might offer...

The idea might be that new students would be intimidated by the need to take more than one class in order to get the free tuition, while continuing students have already built a routine.

So, if I'm reading this right it only covers the in-district tuition rate. The OOS rate is $439/credit which would be almost $800 for the "free" course. Does anyone know how this applies for out of state?

Online and hybrid classes are assessed at in-district tuition rates (each online course also has a $50 fee): https://www.oakton.edu/admission/costs_f...tion_fees/

If you use a VPN, it's not an issue.
