TESC does not follow the UL/LL recommendations of anyone. In the PLA database, Genetics is listed as UL, so I would ask if I needed UL science credit.

By all means ask, but I was expressing skepticism that that particular exam would be considered UL by TESC. It would be great to get confirmation either way.
EDIT: FWIW, a search for "Basic Genetics" returns no results in the PLA database. "Human Genetics" comes up as BIO-241, and while, yes "Genetics" comes up as BIO-341, it only garners one star.

TESC gave UL to a TEEX course that was evaluated by ACE as LL. The course is called Cyber Security for IT Professionals and it was evaluated as CIS-344 Computer Security. TESC gave me UL credit in Substance Abuse for a CC course titled "Introduction to Alcohol and Drug Addictions." The Principles of Marketing CLEP is evaluated as LL and TESC has determined it's equivalent to its UL course called Intro to Marketing. Having basic, principles, or intro in a title doesn't really make a difference unless it's something like Basic Algebra. TESC mostly looks at the course description and content.

In any of those cases, was there a LL option at TESC? That may or may not have been a factor.
While I certainly hope that particular ECE is UL at TESC, I doubt it. The content for the exam looks very LL to me.
Incidentally, there is also a Saylor course in genetics- maybe that is an option if the ECE is deemed to be LL. EDIT: no at least not yet.

No and there's probably not a LL option for Genetics either. Human Genetics doesn't seem like a good match since it focuses on genetic counseling. It's kind of like Human Biology and General or Intro to Biology not being the same thing. By the way, I just searched "Genetics." Physical Anthropology came up as the best match. Genetics came up as the worst match. Those stars mean nothing.

I see you edited your post. I was about to say that their genetics course is neither ACE or NCCRS-approved. Coursera has an ACE-approved course for intro to genetics and evolution or something like that.

For someone who hasn't taken a bunch of Nat Sci tests and courses, the ECE exams are certainly a good value if you aren't necessarily worried about UL/LL.
