I know of two sources: 1)Independent Study at Idaho U. Courses-Independent Study in Idaho-University of Idaho which gives you up to one year time, and 2) the 8 month print based courses (PBC) at Ohio U. OHIO eCampus Does anyone know of others?

You may enroll at any time and take up to 9 months to complete your course. Athabasca University Undergraduate Courses : Athabasca University Each individualized study course has a specific course contract start date and end date. You will have six months to complete a zero-, one-, three-, or four-credit course, and 12 months to complete a six-credit course.

BYU also has online independent study courses with a one year deadline - graded credits.

University of Arkansas, LSU, CSU-Global (I think), all offer these. CSU-P and UofIdaho are my favorites.
