Kathy, good for you! I think you hit the nail on the head, and studying the correct material instead of jumping around will serve you well. I failed one exam (Civil War) out of the many I took, and that exam I'd spent probably the most time trying to understand the "story" of the Civil War. I logged a zillion hours watching all the videos, Ken Burns series, and reading a bunch of random Civil War history. Guess what was my downfall? I hadn't learned the key points! At the end of it all, I needed to know much more of the "trivial pursuit" info than the general understanding. When was this battle fought? Who led in that battle? What date, what river, what .... I hadn't memorized enough of that info to answer those questions. I had too much fluff and not enough meat.

Pick a single source, IC is an excellent one, but if you pick something else so be it. But STICK WITH IT. Also, people here know how to prep for tests. It's the entire topic of this forum. Why pick random brands and companies when everyone here has already listed the tried and true winners? I went back in your posts and found the name of your study guide- honestly, I'd never heard of it.

Use IC
Use REA
Use Petersons
Use Specific Exam Feedback to find out things you might have overlooked.

That's all you need!
That is the recipe for success!!!!! (same recipe no matter which exam you choose)

Also, if I may, choose an exam today in which you have some interest AND some intuition. Start with something that you can understand. My first test was Human Growth and Development- why? Because I'd been pregnant 4 times, I knew about wombs and lactation and babies and toddlers. I'd lived it. So, learning the names of stages and the phases of development wasn't entirely foreign to me. Yes, it was an academic look at something that I had a practical understanding of, so it involved "studying" but I could relate to the material and scored very well. Criminal Justice, same thing, I watched a lot of Law and Order in my day Smile See? To get started, you need to get into a groove. Pick something you can relate to or already have experience with and get your momentum going. Once you've passed several exams, and you have to study stuff you don't really like, it'll be easier because you'll know "how" to study anything at that point.

Good luck!!!!
