That's what I was thinking as well, basically, they've changed their pricing model to even more expensive...Everyone was on category 4, now they're making it more expensive for people who live elsewhere in the world, selectively bumping pricing for each and everyone... A cash grab and a cheap shot all in one! My recommendation - Go RA for that price point with ETAMU or UMPI, etc...

Okay, so can you name a non-CBE RA degree that's less than 8k? I'm genuinely interested if you know any.

CBE isn't for everyone and not everyone cares about RA vs NA.

Why someone might rather enroll in this school?

1. They would rather go the more traditional route, with deadlines to assignments due to procrastination issues.
2. CBE might genuinely be hard for them.
3. The school has a specialization they're interested in.
4. I'm pretty sure TAMUC is USA-only as I emailed last year and they said so.
5. They don't care about RA vs NA.
6. They prefer this school's format.
7. They might be able to transfer more credits in.

But no worries, me personally, I will be enrolling in both schools eventually.

But Nexford describes itself as CBE and self-paced, and charges tuition per calendar period (albeit with a maximum).

I mean, you start off with one course per month and can later increase the courseload if you wish so it's not CBE in the traditional sense at least. I'm a fan of this though which is why I'll be enrolling in the future

Basically, NA/DEAC degree offerings are available for affordable prices (for some of them at least), you don't have to go for Nexford, there are other options out there. Basically, I really like NA institutions for graduate studies as possible options, I usually tell people it's a 50/50, but for undergrad, I tell people to 80/20 RA vs NA, for transfer purposes, recognition, etc.

DEAC is the only NA accreditation agency that is both recognized by CHEA and USDOE, the majority of them are only USDOE (which is the main goal in accreditation, it's just that I like to have that CHEA also looking at their programs). There are only a handful outside of DEAC that are NA under other accreditation agencies I like, such as Beal (ASCCSC) VUL (TRACS), etc.

In brief, NA is a great second choice, RA should be first... Here's an example thread reply from a 3-4 months ago, it points to threads I've linked to previously in regards to types of accreditation. Essentially, post #2 and the two links, will link you to that main thread...

Sure, I can. I assume you are asking about graduate-level programs. None of these programs are CBE, and they are all RA accredited.
-Hellenic American University offers a 3k MBA program with a scholarship covering the rest of the tuition. Almost everyone gets the scholarship/grant.
-Middle Georgia State University offers master's degrees at $261 per credit.
-Augusta University Online offers master'at costs $7-8k from 7-8k per degree, and the average credit cost is $236.
-Liberty University offers master's degrees for $250 per credit if you served in the military.
-Georgia Southern University offers master's degrees at $283 per credit
-American College of Education offers master's degrees as low as 7k for a total program
-Georgia Institute of Technology offers a master's in computer science for $ 195 per credit, the cheapest I have found.
I am sure there are more if you search.
