Overall, the prerequisites for Columbia Nursing appear to be very similar to those required of most nursing schools. However, many nursing schools have their own list of prerequisites that don't necessarily match another nursing school, and this can become cumbersome and expensive if you don't get accepted. Some schools may also require the certified nurse assistant (CNA) certification course and clinical hours, either volunteer or paid.
I suggest the EMT basic course as a starting point to see if you like medicine and/or nursing careers before diving into the whole prerequisite journey. The course gave me a great foundation and has had utility throughout my life. I loved the EMT program and went on to become an RN and NP.
