New to TESC, some questions?
#1
Hi everyone, first of I'd like to say this forum as been a wonderful resource to me Smile

So back in January of this year both of my parents were hospitalized, my dad has recovered fine from an acute pancreatitis. My mother however had an aneurysm rupture and is expected to have about a year recovery time. I was a computer science major at NJCU with all the standard requirements there completed and a just began my major courses when this all happened. Because of this I had to drop the semester due to becoming their primary care takers and wasn't sure about what to do about completing my degree until I remembered hearing about TESC on this forum back when I clepped english comp.

My first question is that I've seen a few topics about the BSAST in Information Technology (IT is what I really preferred but NJCU didn't offer it) being completed but on the TESC page it's not listed as a degree that can be earned online although when I checked the course catalog all of the courses required to complete the BSAST in IT were offered online, is there anyone that can confirm they earned it online? My final question is back at NJCU I clepped English 101 and 102 but took the modular exam because NJCU did not want the essay where I recently read that TESC does. I'm hoping for a better answer but I'm assuming I'm going to have to take at least English 102 when I begin my courses at TESC right? Thank you guys in advance for the help while I await my TESC transcript evaluation.

It seems to be listed in the catalog as a degree that be completed online, though its also listed in the hybrid section. I would call or email the school to find out since they have always been slow updated the website to match the catalog. Im not sure what the elective policy is anymore but if its upper class electives they may not have enough CIS/COS classes to qualify to finish the degree online right now and you may need to find one or two electives outside the school. But calling would be the best option.

Thanks for the response, I made a call today and was told it's a hybrid course and the only ones I would have to take else where are some of the general studies which I have already completed most of since I transferred from another college. Filled out my FAFSA and I shall begin this September hopefully! The adviser said that they'll only accept the Comp modular without the essay as Eng 101 so that means I'll be doing English 102 through SL. Working on hopefully Clepping Chemistry by the end of June, and then the SL courses and I should then be focused on major specific courses only! Thanks a lot once again everyone, this forum is like the forbidden knowledge of education!
