I was planning to take a final tonight or tomorrow morning. Should I wait until the course syllabus I am working on is updated or will the new grading be added while my final is being reviewed?

There's no need to wait for the syllabus to be updated. The grading policy is in effect for all courses starting yesterday and going forward, so you can take your final tonight or tomorrow morning if you like.

this actually makes me very happy.
My degree is looking much closer each and every day. Aiming to have everything turned in by October 1st. But if not I will make the TESC cut off by December 1st.

My son took the Chemistry 101 exam in June and scored 65%, and noted some errors in the exam in the process. This is the only exam he has ever failed and he had studied Chemistry from a textbook for an entire year prior to going through Study.com's Chemistry 101. In light of the new grading scheme, can he appeal his grade and possibly be given a pass for the course?
I came to this forum researching for my now 17-yr-old son who was earning credits via testing and online courses. He completed TESU's BUS-421 in March 2018, the capstone for the TESU BSBA GM degree. Below are the courses he took:
Study.com: Business 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 107, 109, 113, 121, 308, 309; Economics 101, 102; Finance 101, 102; History 103, 104, 106, 108; Math 103; Political Science 102; Religion 101; Geology 101; Nutrition 101; Chemistry 101; English 305
SL: Intro to Communications, Accounting 1&2, Financial Accounting
ALEKS: Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, PreCalculus, Statistics
TEEX: Cybersecurity 101, 102, 103
Sophia: Developing Effective Teams
312N-H Ethics & the CPCU Code of Professional Conduct
Community College: English 101 & 102, Calculus 1
TESU: MAT-105 Applied Liberal Arts Math TECEP, BUS-421-OL BSBA Capstone Course (January 2018 term)

I don't see why not, this is a great idea! E-mail them and let us know how it goes.

Appeal sent to Study.com. Will report back when I receive an answer. I do not believe the Chemistry 101 exam has changed since June and strongly feel that a 65% exam score in June, along with 100% on quizzes, and with errors noted in the credit exam, my son should indeed receive a pass on this course.
I will add that my son has stated he will never again take a Study.com credit exam where you have to rely on resource information being provided (such as a periodic table - promised but not provided on some test questions that required it) or on elements of the test to be displayed properly such as graphs or certain equations for a math exam. We found numerous mathematical errors in the PreCalculus practice exams, along with missing graphs or other info missing, and my son said the same situation existed on the PreCalc credit exam (which he passed because he'd already had a year of precalc at home and he's really good at math).

I've dealt with Study.com Customer Service two times and I could not be more happy with how easy they were to deal with. I think they will help you out. They are also on this forum now so maybe sending them a private message would help as well and may make things a little faster.

Just thought I would update everybody. The 300 level business courses I am taking such as business 312: advanced operations management now requires an 800-1200 word essay before you can take the final exam. It only took me a couple hours to complete, but may be a problem for other people.

Thanks for the update.
The TECEP is still all multiple choice, but this course might be good to use as a study aid for it. The UExcel also is an option.

Update: I appealed my son's Chemistry 101 overall score at Study.com. He had scored a 65 in June, but in light of the recent grading changes, I was hoping they would consider passing him, since he would now only need a 55 to pass. The answer from Study.com was a "no".
Regarding some of the other grading changes, my son recently completed English 305: Advanced Technical Writing. It required an 800-1200 word essay. He worked on it many hours over the course of a week. We received both his technical paper grade and his exam grade at the same time, and both were an 89. However, we did not receive any comments on the paper, so we have no idea what types of things he missed on his paper.
