Bah! My LG G4 is crapping out (everything works, just the battery doesn't seem to be holding a charge much). I have always used LG/Samsung but haven't used Samsung in a while... don't think I want to pay a premium when LG phones are about the same in quality/specs. Which would you choose? I am leaning towards the G6 for the price.
I am thinking of going for the LG G6 which is last years flagship or go for an upper-middle of the line newer phone, the LG G7 One. The One is not the G7, as it's just a "little bro" version of the flagship G7 Thin Q. The price difference between One and G7 aren't that significant, but still, don't want to waste the cash.

3rd option: you could look into the cost of replacing the battery yourself(cheap but requires some effort) or at a shop(more expensive but less effort).

SO you need to decide the order of the following:
Cheap, Easy, Fast....

I can't recommend the LG devices.
If I were looking to buy an Android phone right now, it would probably be the Google Pixel 3/XL. I find the Google phones have a faster UI and come installed with less bloatware. Plus the Pixel is amazing for photography.
I have had good luck with Samsung (that is what my wife uses), so I might also consider the Samsung S9/Plus, though the S10 is expected to drop at the end of February, so I might also go that direction. Even if it meant using my current phone (or digging an old one out of mothballs) for a while and wait for the S10 to be released.

I'm rocking a pixel XL and I love it but I honestly can't justify the price tag of a brand new pixel3/xl. My friend just picked up a nearly new Galaxy s9+ for $480 so looking at lightly used may be the best way to go.
As for the pixel camera, it uses the same sensors as any other phone, the magic is in the software, which you can get ported from a few different sources. A good place to start is : https://www.xda-developers.com/google-camera-port-hub/

I love my Pixel XL (1). I'm definitely looking to upgrade to the 3, but MNomadic is correct -- that price tag is something else. The Galaxy S10 is coming out somewhat soon, and I'm hoping that it causes a bit of a dip in the price of the Pixel 3.

Pixel 3 is half off through Verizon today so my wife and I caved and are both upgrading from our original Pixels. With half off plus the amount we'll get back from our current phones, it makes it pretty reasonable. We've both been extremely happy with our Pixels and hopefully that continues with the 3.

I've been using a Moto G6 for about a month. The phone is good over-all (not great) but for $99 it's a steal! FI is a great choice too.

How is the Fi network? I've been curious. How's coverage? Would you recommend?
