July 4th - 2009!

So what did everyone do to celebrate?

We went to a Great Big Huge Outdoor Amphitheatre for a concert. The local symphony played a whole bunch of patriotic pieces and wound up with the 1812 Overture, complete with real cannons. My dad fired one of the cannons (actually a cute little mortar) and gets a big kick out of talking about "playing with the symphony." hilarious The concert ended with a big whoppin' fireworks show. Very cool.

I love that piece! It would be neat to see it played in person and not just over the speakers. My family and I went to a TEA Party....

We went to my uncle and aunt's house on the Fourth; however, it rained ALL DAY, so we couldn't do fireworks. My uncle told everybody to come back on August 8, and we will try it again. hilarious
