Need help on a plan. Clock is ticking.
#1
I'm 46 from California in pursuit of a BA in Liberal Studies with a cocentration in Health and Wellness. I currently have a CTE Credential and teach High School Culinary Arts and Music. I would like to obtain a Single Subject credential and teach PE. I plan to enroll in a credential program after completing my BA, which is a requirement. If I finish my BA within the next 2.5 years, I would not have to take and pay for a good portion of my Single Subject program since I completed it during my CTE program. I am not sure if anyone gives credit for any of these courses, but its worth a shot so I will list them.  I also have a few community course units which I will list below as well. Thank you in advance for any help with this.

Health & Wellness isn't a TESU degree that can be easily obtained via alternate credit. Degrees that can be obtained relatively easily from TESU are listed here: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/Sa...ts_Roadmap

I know k-k-k-katy is working on getting that degree, though, so I suggest sending her a pm regarding how she's filling out the requirements. She's using https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/XAMK for some of her credits and planning on using PLA for some others, IIRC.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA

Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
ASU: Human Origins, Astronomy, Intro Health & Wellness, Western Civilization, Computer Appls & Info Technology, Intro Programming
Strayer: CIS175, CIS111, WRK100, MAT210

Have you decided on TESU or are you just deciding? Do you have tuition assistance/reimbursement from work? I think you can do the Health & Wellness option if you take the two terms flat rate OR if you do the one term flat rate and a PLA for your experience and portfolio. Another option is to just get a quick BLS degree at UMPI and go for a Masters in Health & Wellness that only requires a Bachelors as entry. You may want to check the requirements for the state licensing and take whatever is required for certification, stick with what they need and complete it en route to the Bachelors.

Do you have to have that concentration? I would consider the UMPI BLS with minor in Educational Studies instead (assuming you can get a bachelor's degree in literally anything). This would be cheap, and fast (assuming you do the Sophia/Study.com route). This could easily be done within a year, and most people are finishing their degrees as UMPI within 2-3 terms.

If a BLS from UMPI with Educational Studies minor would work, then you can totally do this in under a year for less than $5K. We've had people on here start with 0 credits and complete their degree in 6 months.

Looking at the NTLD courses I don't think you'll get credit for them anywhere. They appear to be some sort of continuing education credits. I can't find much info on them. If they were ACE credits, then UMPI would totally give you general elective credit for them.

UMPI BLS Plan

I. GEC – 40 credits
1A. ENG101 – they may give you credit for this
1B. ENG121
1C. InstantCert – American Government
1D. ENG101
2A. Sophia – Introduction to Ethics
2B. Sophia – Introduction to Ethics
2C. ENG121
2D. HUM103
2E. Transfer credit
3A. Transfer credit
3B. Transfer credit
3C. Study.com Biology101L Biology with Lab or Chemistry 111L Chemistry I with Lab
3D. Sophia – Environmental Science
3E. y.com Biology101L Biology with Lab or Chemistry 111L Chemistry I with Lab
4A. YourPace Orientation
4B. ENG121
4C. Sophia – Introduction to Ethics
5A. Sophia – Approaches to Studying Religions or Introduction to Sociology
5B. Sophia – US History 1
5C. SPA101
5D. Transfer credit
5E. InstantCert – American Government

You may need additional courses to reach the 40 credit requirement in the GEC

II. General Electives - 62 credits
Sophia:
US History 2
Human Biology
Visual Communication
Developing Effective Teams
Introduction to Information Technology
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
The Essentials of Managing Conflict
Introduction to Psychology
Introduction to Sociology
College Algebra
Art History 1 & 2

III. Educational Studies Minor – 18 credits
EDU152
EDU153
EDU210
EDU302
EDU305
EDU357
EDU378

You’ll need to complete a minimum of 30 credits at UMPI.

Thank you for your response. I should have been clear in stating that my initial goal is to get bachelors, not necesssarily with that concentration. I need the degree in order to be accpeted in the credentialing program I plan to attend. The Health & Wellness concentraion would allow me to not have to take the CBEST, but definitley not a deal breaker. Again, thanks for your input!

Note: don't apply to UMPI until you are at/near 90 credits in transfer. As soon as you apply and are accepted, you can no longer transfer in further credits without permission.

@asaenz76, "I am not committed to TESU, just seems like a good option." I agree, you should keep your options open to the Big 3 (COSC, Excelsior, TESU) for max alternative credit transfer. I suggest also taking a look at PUG/UMPI/WGU/UMASS, etc for competency based degree options.

With your credits, you may want to do this, Pierpont BOG AAS (with an emphasis in what you want, example IT), UMPI AALS (a different concentration of your choice, example Business), UMPI BAS with a concentration of something you want to major/minor in, they have a Health & Wellness minor, but it's hard to get as it's not "YourPace", I would go for any minor offered by YourPace...
