Your Age:
What kind of degree do you want?
Current Regional Accredited Credits:
- Credits from 2 CCs (SACSCOC & WASC accredited) and 1 University (Higher Learning Commission)
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits:
Any certifications or military experience?:
Budget:
Commitments:
Dedicated time to study:
Timeline:
- I'd like to finish in 3-4months
Tuition assistance/reimbursement:
What I have:
My criteria for the university would be:
- accept credits as much as it possible
- self-paced, instead of traditional deadlines;
- competency-based if possible (NAU's PL program were mostly essay format)
- SPEED
- I'm open to any university that is regionally accredited.
- The cheaper the plan the better, but not for sake of speed. Speed is highest priority.
More context:
- I'm looking to finish my bachelor's in ANY subject/major, as my goal is to apply to a graduate level program next year and their only prerequisite is an undergraduate degree in ANY subject/major.
- My actual work experience for the past 10 years has been in HR and most recently as Chief People Officer if that helps in any way for those competency-based plans.
- Would appreciate any help in helping me narrow down my options and give me a quick path to complete a bachelor's as quickly as possible.
TIA!

Couldn't sleep and bored. I recommend UMPI Bachelor's of Liberal Studies with a Minor in Management.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...1583217594
Edit: I forgot to add details about the cost/school. Sophia is usually $99 a month but there are often $20 sales. UMPI degrees are probably the quickest. They accept 90 transfer credits and accept ACE credits. You can complete as many courses as you can during a 53 day session, costing $1800 per session. I would say hope for 1, expect 2, plan for 3. A lot more info on the school can be found in the wiki and other posts.
General Educations will be satisfied with 44 total credits:
- 16 general education already completed
- ENG 102 Needs to be completed at UMPI
22 credits required to be taken at Sophia (7 three credit courses and 1 one credit course):
- Introduction to Ethics
- Introduction to Sociology
- Critical Thinking
- Visual Communications
- Human Biology
- Human Biology Lab (1 credit)
- US History I
- Spanish I
Management Minor will be satisfied with 18 total credits
- Take Business Communication at Sophia (3 Credits)
- Take BUS 141, 260, 321, 415, 240 at UMPI (15 Credits)
Liberal studies Major requires 24 Upper level courses in any subject. 12 credit hours has to be complete at UMPI.
- You already completed 6 credit hours worth of UL credits.
Pick 2 UL courses from Sophia (6 credit hours total):
- Operations Management
- Microbiology
- Business Ethics
- Business Law
Complete 12 upper level courses (4 courses) at UMPI
Electives
You need 120 total credits to graduate. 120 total credits - General education (44) - Minor (18) - LS (24) = 34 Credits.
You technically already completed 19 credits but only 12 were previous transferred into UMPI (Check out the UMPI transfer equivalency tool https://mainestreetcs.maine.edu/psp/CSPR..._GUEST.GBL?). As a result, I'm not sure if they will transfer in. UMPI probably will, but I dunno. Complete any course at Sophia that are not foundational courses. List in attached degree plan.
- 5 courses or 8 courses to be safe.
Double check the Your courses tab and make sure the courses are accurate.

Wow! Omg you're amazing! This is great! I wasn't even looking at UMPI, I was thinking it would end up being WGU or TESU.
Thank you so so so much!

A clean 0-100 UMPI BLS Management copy for people who are interested. I made it solely based on the UMPI transfer equivalency guide and the 25-26 UMPI catalog. It requires 33 credits to be taken at UMPI. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1...sp=sharing

For max transfer, TESU at 114 credits, but it goes over your budget. UMPI would be your first choice, UofPeople your second choice due to time, they allow 90 credits transferred as well, but it will take you longer to finish. Price wise, UMPI and UofPeople would fit the bill...

Thank you for replying. I’ve seen your posts, you’ve been so helpful and resourceful!
I was going to contact all of the schools and have them assess my transfer credits first and see what we are working with, and then load up on Sophia courses before enrolling into their program. But really costs and speed is most important and I think UMPI’s probably ticks all the boxes.
How much time do you think is lost or affected by Sophia’s new hardline policy about 2 courses at a time only? How much are people slowed down? My understanding was that previously after you completed two courses if you were only waiting for them to be graded, you could have a third course unlocked and start working on that; but now you have to wait for the courses to be graded, which I believe is 48 hours max, before you can open the next course.

I don't think any of the schools will give you an assessment unless you apply first.
The original Sophia strategy was:
- Complete one course that requires graded assignments (touchstones)
- While you're waiting for the grades, complete courses without touchstones
Touchstones should take you a day or so anyway so it shouldn't slow you down too much especially if they honor the 48 hour grading times. It should only take a month or two for the amount of Sophia courses you need.

Thanks for the info.
Applied to UMPI today.
What are your thoughts on Study.com along with or instead of Sophia? The only reason I'm asking is because it seems like Study.com is trying to compete more with Sophia and they have changed their pricing plans and removed proctored exams. The College Saver plan looks interesting due to its mobile APP access for complete courses while on the go and allow 3 classes to be completed simultaneously.

It's probably up to your preference at this point with all the changes. College saver is $4 a month cheaper....but Sophia you might get a first month $20 discount. I previously used Sophia but there are a lot more touchstones now. I've heard the new Study.com subscriptions were good but I don't know anyone that has used it personally. Bjcheung77 shared this in another thread for the Study.com UMPI equivalencies: https://study.com/college/school/umpi.html

Sophia.org and Study.com both were reevaluated at UMPI and the bulk of their classes no longer hit all the requirements to max the 90 credits I believe... At this point in time, it really depends on what classes you need to take to hit all the general education requirements and electives to max your transfer of 90 credits (or more, they just won't go into the degree). I'll also throw in UofPeople as a contender...
