Need advice on education vs job résumé dilemma
#1
I'm still in the status of "accepted applicant" at TESC. I am studying for the abnormal psych TECEP exam, but don't feel like I am ready yet. I'm sort of thinking I'd be ready by August, but who knows? I'm afraid I might need longer, or possibly need less time & would forget too much by the time I take the test. Ideally I'd like to enroll at TESC under the per credit tuition plan by signing up for the TECEP the same week that I feel confident about taking the test. Of course, July 1st could bring changes to the college catalogue, so I may want to commit to the TECEP before then to get in under the current degree requirements.

I am also still unemployed, but came across a number of very viable options for job positions yesterday & this morning. I don't have many credits left to complete in order to fulfill the degree requirements, but do still need to complete the 24 credits for the residency requirements.

I am considering if I should go ahead & list TESC on my rÃsumÃ? If so, what's the best/honest way to do this given my current situation?

Thanks!

Where I work, if you're within one year of graduation, you may list the degree.

If you're targeting your resumes, you might want to call the Human Resources Office and ask the company's policy. Otherwise, when enrolled at a college/resume, I'd list the instiution, how many credits you have, and how many credits you are away from graduation. This is NOT a professional recommendation, but it's how I would do it if I didn't have any other feedback.

Many people list the degree with the anticipated graduation date. You could also put "in progress." If they ask for a transcript, you're going to need to be enrolled or a former enrolled student for that.
