My diplomas have been ordered! Whoo Hoo!
#1
I just got the emails this morning that my diplomas have been ordered:  BSBA in Accounting and CIS; ASNSM in Math and Computer Science; Certificates in Finance, Marketing, Operations Management and Organizational Leadership.

This is not an "I'm done" thread because I am still working on science, math and computer courses until and probably after graduation.  This community is fantastic and I will post some thank yous when the diplomas come in the mail.

Also, my twins, Grace and Emma, turn five today. Good day all around.

Great work bud!
We are all on the same side here, trying to better our lives....so let's get along and help each other out.

Learn a trade. Gain technical skills. Make money, then use this money to get a degree...if you have the desire.

Congrats!! I am scheduled for a graduation check on May 29th and received word today from my instructor that she submitted my capstone grade to the registrar. If I am allowed to join the June graduates, will they send an email saying my diploma was ordered?
#6
Yes! That's what they did for me.

I'm soooo excited. I have to stop myself from checking my email every five minutes!

Big Congrats to you!

Can I please ask you a few questions?  I am on my final course (BUS421 Capstone for BSBA Finance).  The course ends on July 22. Assuming I get a C, I will graduate in September.

My question is when can we say we have a college degree (for employment purposes as an example)?

A friend told me he feels the actual graduation doesn't have to be in the past.  He said, once I have all of the credits in then I can say I have the degree. Is this true?  For example, academic advising said they start the audits in late July.  Does this mean once the audit is done, I can legally say I am a college graduate?

In case you are wondering...I am looking for a new role and the degree will be helpful. Additionally, I have completed a professional designation that requires the undergrad work to be done before you can use the credentials.

Any help is appreciated.

Gloddy

Technically, you can't claim it until it confers. I would put it on my resume with the future graduation date. That way they know you're close, but you're not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes.

Before I graduated, they sent me a couple of embossed letters on TESU stationary certifying that I'd satisfied my graduation requirements. I would think that most employers would accept that, but they came only about a month ahead of conferral.

And conferral isn't the actual date the graduation ceremony is, correct?
