My Journey: TESU BSBA

Thanks.

I took the Eng Comp II TECEP. Passing only requires 70%. I found it to be a challenge, because of not having prepared much in advance. I am glad I could get this one done quickly and that I didn't overstudy for once. The sample questions really show how the exam is. It seems like there are much easier options for Eng Comp II, but I wanted credit that would be more widely accepted than CLEP.

I wish I could knock out another exam right now. I have to try to schedule 72 hours in advance to save money Sad I think the fee is too way much for TECEPs. $12 without 72 hours notice.

I am frustrated that I want to take 1 more Study.com course, but I have to take 2. Everything else is ProctorU or in-person testing, except for CSU-Global which uses Examity.

I didn't take the Marketing Comm TECEP last week as planned, and did not realize how tight things would be this week! So now I have only 5 days to study for the TECEP, take the TECEP, and complete a lot of community college assignments Sad I did 3/4 of one assignment.

I regret not spending at least 10 more hours last week on Marketing Comm. I have only read 3 of the 21 chapters, and it took hours. I only need 60% to pass, but I don't like this. I can't waste the money! Although I think I have plenty of marketing knowledge, I don't think I know enough about the topics being tested on this exam.

The worst part is the textbook has really poor summaries. I looked at 2 other textbooks and they have really poor summaries too.

I can do a poor job on a couple community college assignments and still get A's, or probably get an extension for 1 or 2 classes, but I hate to make a bad first impression on the professors. And I don't know if I can stand handing in something too low quality, for an ongoing class.

I guess I can squeeze all of this in.

And then I have another exam scheduled for the 30th. But I didn't plan to study much for that one anyway, so maybe I should just do it. I planned to study for about 4-6 hours.

I take the Marketing Communications TECEP tomorrow evening. I am sure I can pass. I plan to put in a lot of hours from now until then. My only worry is having to reschedule. Since it's the last day for the TECEP, there is not much leeway for rescheduling. Actually, I think I might want to take the exam earlier than I scheduled it for, while I'm less tired, but I don't want to pay a rescheduling fee. I will see how the timing goes.

Then I'll be studying and taking the DSST Money & Banking. I would be on the border of passing if I didn't study, but I will try to get in at least 4 hours of studying.

I am upset that one Study.com marketing course, which I already took, is supposed to come in as LL instead of UL. Because I thought it was UL, I signed up for an LL marketing TECEP instead of the UL TECEP. I don't mind taking an extra exam, but I mind having to spend another $117.

I'm taking the community college phys ed class, and I'm not sure if I should bother getting a medical accommodation. I'm afraid of opening a can of worms and making things worse in a way!

I want to keep moving quickly on the CLEPs, TECEPs, etc. Just putting off an exam for a week can really mess up my schedule.

Marketing Comm took me by surprise and was unpleasant, because I felt like a lot of the questions weren't what I studied. I felt prepared on the topics they outlined, because I read a lot of one book and parts of 3 others, but I felt like the exam was created from other material. It had a lot to do with the wording. It felt like the Davar American Government exam. For one essay question, I really couldn't tell what they were asking. I'm curious to know if I will get any points for that particular question, but I guess I'll never know. I still think I'll get in the 70's, and only need 60%. I felt like the Strategic Management exam made more sense than this one, although that one had so much pressure and unknown. It seemed like because I had done Strategic Mgmt, I was able to get at least 7 points on Marketing Comm. I didn't expect that, but it seemed like there were general business questions, and so many marketing things (that I spent a lot of time learning) they didn't ask about.

I want to be done with TECEPs that have essays. CSU-Global CBEs may have essays too. At least some of them do.

I wish I had registered for the Advertising TECEP already. I'd like to get that one out of the way, if I need it. I studied a bunch of Advertising recently. I could take it early to mid-Sept, but I have a lot on my plate already.

I passed the DSST in Money and Banking. Getting to that test center is more difficult than the CLEP center, so I'm glad I don't have to return. Someone who lives near a test center could risk being less prepared since they have the free retake offer through Sept 30th that seems to be for everyone, not only military.

The exam has plenty of macroeconomics on it, and I don't think a person can pass without understanding a few of the main concepts. I felt like macro was kind of hard, and I had to refresh myself on some concepts. I was allowed to use scratch paper, which you have to hand in after the exam. This was nice for scribbling as I worked out some of the questions about interest or inflation going up or down.

The exam was harder than I expected, because I felt about 1/3 of the questions asked for specifics. Therefore, I think it needs more than 6 hours of studying for most people.

I'm really motivated again, but I want things to go faster. I am .

I feel like rushing and finishing the last 4 ACE courses, so I can send an ACE transcript, but I'm feeling nervous about Saylor Business Statistics. Even though I passed an ALEKS statistics course. I don't think it will be that hard, but it will be a lot of math at once. I can't do as much math per day. And 1 of the other courses is Accounting, but it's Study.com so I'm not too worried.

I've been eager, but I got a little too eager this week. I took two TECEPs a day apart, and then I booked a CLEP without deciding on my study plan first. Now I think I underestimated how much I need to study Microeconomics and Business Law Sad The good news is the test center didn't make me specify which CLEP, only that I'm going to take a CLEP, so I'm thinking of taking the easier Information Systems one this time.

The Psychology of Women TECEP multiple-choice had more obscure questions than I expected, but I expected essay questions to be more specific than they were. It's LL and I feel that anyone can pass by reading the book. Although there are questions you will have no idea on, it doesn't matter, since it's Pass/Fail.

The Abnormal Psych TECEP was UL and seemed like a solid exam. It had a good mix of easy and hard questions. I felt like it was also one that could be passed by knowing one textbook.

I think I might know roughly enough to pass Microeconomics, but I guess the TECEPs have tired me out. I also have 2 community college assignments due. I am disappointed anytime I fall short, but I'll still be glad to get 3 done in 3 days.

I hate these exams where you have to plan in advance. Davar was so much nicer because I could take it on demand through RPNow. My DSST Money & Banking experience was not good because I had not prepared as much as I wanted, and felt I had a chance of failing. I guess that's what has me worried about Microecon. I am also tired of economics, since I was studying some Macro for the M&B test last week. I feel like I have studied economics 10 times, so I can't believe I still have to do Micro!

Although I'm more motivated to finish a lot of the BSBA requirements soon, I am less motivated for plans afterwards Sad I feel unsure again about what additional degree will get me closest to my goals. I would still love to do the MPA and BA-CS, or at least one, but I'm not sure about spending the money and time. It's not that much time, but I wonder (again) if I would be better off spending the effort for a masters or bachelors in something else. The MPA would be a pretty cheap and quick way to have any Masters degree, and I really do want the MPA because of one dream I have. I just don't know if I can get a practical return on the investment. I think that the BA-CS would directly help me to earn a little more per year, and I want to learn more programming, but studying something else might help much more on a practical level. My situation is atypical because of my disabilities and for other reasons, so I find it hard to get advice.

I'm less worried about the Microeconomics CLEP now that I've gotten one CLEP under my belt. Business Law does not worry me either, but I will probably need to study an average amount for it. I previously thought that I could get by with only a couple hours.

None of the remaining requirements worry me, they are all a matter of putting in the time and taking the exam. Some finance exams seem challenging but I will prepare for them. The only thing I'm worried about is financial aid falling through (or some thing unexpected and bigger coming up in my life)!

I think you spend too much time worrying about future plans, instead of focusing on what your current goal is.  I would stop thinking about it, and just spend all your time and effort finishing your BSBA.
