My Journey: TESU BSBA

IIRC, Study.com currently has courses that are UL and TESU is switching them to LL on 1/1/18. Per their agreement, if you have transferred the course in prior to that date, you get to keep it as UL.

I think this one isn't part of that batch being downgraded. I will see what happens.

Unfortunately some advisor at TESU told me a UL Accounting course would count for the Finance concentration. Then another told me the wrong course number. Now I don't trust all of the course evaluations I was given and need to double check.

I think I may do a portfolio for my last 3 Finance AOS credits. Since I already want to take the $149 LearningCounts course for another reason, it's only $125 for the 3 credits.

However, that would mean I can't graduate in March, because the LearningCounts course doesn't start for a month and a half. They say it last 6 weeks and that it needs 10-15 hours of work per week, with the last 3 weeks needing more work. But I'm not sure I can graduate before then anyway.

I don't have time for most courses, to graduate in June.

It seems like a lot more work than a CSU-Global exam, but I'm not sure any of them counts. I have to ask more questions. The PLA topic would be more interesting and useful.

I JUST got mine evaluated today and it came in as UL (MAR-441) so I don't think you should worry about it coming in as LL. For what it's worth.

I take the Sales Management TECEP in 2 days, and may get the CLEP Microeconomics done next week or the week after.

I will only have 3 more exams after that! Two TECEP and one CSU-Global, all of which are Finance. I want to get them done in early Dec. It may stretch until mid or late Dec.

So I feel close now, and I will be closer in a couple days Smile Sometimes it feels strange moving so slowly. I still think back to how amazing it was, thanks to Davar Academy, to get so many credits so quickly.

I finally got my Davar credits evaluated and they came in as expected, I guess. I didn't look to closely, but I didn't see anything surprising. They were a lot like Eriehiker's credits.

It will take me into Dec because I'm working on some CLEPs too, which I don't need, but they are free (through the Modern States program).

I've also been slower because of spending a lot of time researching Masters degrees and jobs.

My understanding was that the cheaper course you are referring to is self-paced.  They also offer an instructor-led course for more $$$

        • LearningCounts CoursesOur Do-It-Yourself course costs $149, doesn’t have an instructor, and can be completed at your own pace. This does not include any portfolio assessments. All portfolios must be purchased separately ($125 each) after completion of the course. Our Instructor-Led course costs $895 and is completed in six weeks. Your passing grade in the course is worth 3 college credits, and the portfolio you complete during the class could also be worth 3 credits. That means you can earn up to 6 college credits for $895.

Yes Smile I'm still worried about paying the waiver, but we will see.

Thanks.

So, I completed the Sales Management TECEP. Although I think I passed, it was probably the least fair exam I've ever taken. I mean in my life, not just for this degree. I was and am pretty shocked that they would do this.

I knew the material in the book, and I feel I knew most of the material in their other 3 linked free resources. I even studied other pages from about a dozen other sources. I feel like at most, 20% of the essay portion was from what I studied, and at most, 40% of the multiple-choice. Basically, I think that someone would have to have prior knowledge about marketing, management, business, etc. I think that I only passed due to about 10 other business classes I've done... if I even passed. If I didn't have prior knowledge, I don't know if I would have scored more than 25% on this exam?

I will say that the textbook seemed a bit below average overall. I was a bit worried because after going through the book and other 3 resources, it seemed like half of the list on their outline was material I didn't really know, but that's why I went and read many additional pages.

I had read some posts about this exam, but I'm guessing those posts were about the old version. I think they revamped this exam just about 6 months ago.

I am a good test taker, and I think I'm pretty good at marketing/sales and business concepts. I don't think it's me, but who knows. I felt that I had overstudied just in case. There were dozens of concepts that I had studied that had not even 1 question on this exam.

I can't imagine their Advertising exam being like this, even though people thought it was challenging.

I failed by a lot. I really don't understand what happened with this particular exam/course, but I advise caution to others. I really feel like I was completely misled about what to study, and feel cheated out of the money. I've proven many times I can self-study and pass as long as I have some reasonable book, in fact I often score above 80. I wish I had not chosen this exam in the first place. If only I had taken the Advertising exam with that money, because I can't afford to waste any money.

Thanks. 16 week community college classes feel so slow! Heck, 8 week classes feel slow.

But it's also that I want to knock out CLEPs but getting to the test center is hard.
