I started piano and violin when I was 3 and a half. I guess some asian parents have a thing for their kids starting early. Anyways, I stopped learning violin at 5 and continued piano to this day. It seems like the only times I play now is between intense studying sessions.

I play the drums... I was at a point where I could sit down, listen to a song once, and then play the drum part through the entire song. I have slacked on practicing with the set, but am playing more with my Djembe! Love that thing!

I play piano, cello and I sing. Studied piano for 6 years. I have studied cello for 4 years now (my teacher was taught by Leonard Rose who was also Yo Yo Ma's teacher). Have sung in quintets, and choirs. Have enjoyed it all and could never live without music.

I was wondering about that! I have played acoustic guitar some, but I would really love to play the steel guitar ('course, I might change my mind once I found out how difficult it is...).
Along with a tad bit of acoustic guitar, I've played all of the following in the past (unfortunately, I don't play much of anything any more.): piano, flute, mandolin, hand bells, upright bass, chimes, ... and I think there were more, but those are the ones I spent the most time on. Out of those, I'd put mandolin as my main instrument. I had to give it up a couple years ago due to wrist pain.
I'm hoping I might be able to pick it back up once I finish college though!

Elinor, you played the hand bells, that's awesome. Ever do four-in-hand (two in each hand). Its pretty tough, and hard to get used to.
BTW What is a upright bass? Do you mean double bass?
