Definitely.

Me too! "Just go play piano: it will all be okay." Do any other IC-ers use music performance to relax?

Trying...not...to...shun... Wink It's okay: classical music is often given a bad rapport (and a bad report) in society these days. I understand...though just for the record: I LOVE classical music. Big Grin

I listen to music on my computer.... While I play classical music on the violin I prefer contemporary christian. Does the Soundtrack genre count as classical? I don't think it does but I like listening to that as well!

That's the only other genre besides classical (which includes hymns, folk songs, etc.), that I really dabble in. As for CCM...well, we won't go there. Rolleyes

I play violin & piano. Violin is my main instrument, even though I've been taking piano for around 12 years and violin for 7 1/2.

Piano, guitar, and voice. Seems like that's a popular combination.

Anybody else here compose? I compose film music, as well as simple orchestral and solo piano.

Ditto. Composition is a joy. Few days go by without my messing around with something, even if that something is...uninspiring.

Currently, I am in the midst of composing a score for an hour long film. Happily, music is only required for a somewhat small portion of it.

Here!Smile I write music for film, and also just structured classical music. Right now I'm getting ready to score a feature-length film about pirates!

I play piano, trombone, clarinet, euphonium, bass.

with all the studying for clep/dsst's I find I am limited to enjoy my passion for playing.
I try to make up for it by going to some symphonies though.Smile

Piano for 9 years, guitar since October 2008, and voice...pretty much forever.
I like composing songs on the piano and guitar. Soo incredibly fun, and it always feels worth all the hard work at the end because it sounds so perfect. Smile Wouldn't say that I'm a pro or anything, sure if you put some sheet music in front of me and give me a second I'll play it through pretty smoothly. I usually like to take alot of time to on any piece though.
I enjoy playing classical, soundtrack, and virtually any contemporary song that strikes my fancy on the piano. The Fray, Evanescence, Linkin Park and Lifehouse are the best sounding contemporary pieces played on the piano, if I do say so myself. Smile
Miracles are a retelling in small letters of the very same story which is written across the whole world in letters too large for some of us to see.
