Modern States vouchers to continue
#1
I emailed Modern States with the following question:
Quote:When the voucher program was initially announced, there were 10,000 vouchers that would be available. Can you tell me if you are nearing that limit or if additional funding was procured? We are planning to take advantage of the program within the next few months but are wondering if it will still be around.

Here is their answer:
Quote:Modern States will be providing vouchers at no cost to our learners for the foreseeable future.

Good news, although somewhat noncommittal.

My last voucher was numbered in the 8,000s. I think we've got a solid 3-4 months left of the program based on their initial promise. It's impossible to tell what will happen after that.

My last voucher was numbered in the 8,000s. I think we've got a solid 3-4 months left of the program based on their initial promise. It's impossible to tell what will happen after that.

My vouchers go something like this:
-68xx jun 21
-73xx jul 9
-79xx jul 26

It seems the rate we burn through the vouchers has continued to increase as word is spread. So if the trend continues and they couldn't secure funding past 10,000, then I'd say we have 1.5-2 months tops. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt since they said we'd be good for the, "foreseeable future."

Don't worry. You probably will, it just might not come until tomorrow.

I love that "voucher burn rate" has entered the forum lexicon.

I wouldn't worry. They're always on top of the voucher requests. The longest I've waited was 2 business days. One time I got my voucher within 2 hours of the request.

The testing site reimbursement takes forever though. It's generally 5-8 weeks before you'll get a check in the mail. It's free money though, so we can't really complain.
