My daughter has everything she need to graduate from Lone Star College in Texas. Except Math. She is NOT a good "timed" test taker and adds extra pressure on her self. She has failed the math portion entrance exam 4 times (by a few points). (Also failed the College algebra Clep). They wont allow her to graduate unless she takes remedial and then a math class. She will lose almost a whole year.
The other option that was given to her was to take the math somewhere else (another school) and transfer those credits in.
So here is my question...
Can she take Sophia College Algebra and send it to a school that accepts it and then use a transcript back to lone star?
please help... Math is NOT her strong skill and she is fustrated.

Unless they accept Sophia directly, that's not going to work. But, there is another option! Try ASU's Algebra: https://ea.asu.edu/courses/college-algeb...g-mat-117/
Despite the point breakdown you see on the page, it should use the ALEKS platform. It's much, much different than a traditional math class. I don't think that there are any timed exams. It's only $25 to give it a shot and see if it'll work for her.

Does she have to apply to ASU School? How does it work?

You don't have to apply to ASU. You just need to sign up for an account. You can see the steps here: https://ea.asu.edu/how-it-works/transfer...-learners/
The ASU UL courses are geared towards students who want to gain admission to ASU, but the courses will go on a regular ASU transcript and nobody will be able to tell if you took an ASU course or an ASU UL course. If she is unable to finish the Algebra class for whatever reason, you don't even have to pay the $400 transcription fee. All you'll have to shell out is the $25 initial fee.

Rachel83az ASU's Algebra is good advice. You could start there.
How long has it been since she took the CLEP algebra? You can retake it again after 90 days.
That test is passable if you combine Modern States, Instantcert, and Peterson's practice exams.
What did you score on the practice exam and CLEP? If things don't work out at ASU, you can have the CLEP as a backup plan.
Degrees: BA Computer Science, BS Business Administration with a concentration in CIS, AS Natural Science & Math, TESU. 4.0 GPA 2022.
Course Experience: CLEP, Instantcert, Sophia.org, Study.com, Straighterline.com, Onlinedegree.org, Saylor.org, Csmlearn.com, and TEL Learning.
Certifications: W3Schools PHP, Google IT Support, Google Digital Marketing, Google Project Management

She just took it 2 weeks ago in order to get her 6/2022 diploma. She scored a 41.
She used modern state and instantcert flash cards but she just isnt good at math. (Excellent writer though)

Curious...
Its $25 per class and $400 to transfer?
Example..
If I she does 3 classes it would be $75 plus the $400?

Total of $425 per class (with the exception of the 1-credit IT class)

@splirow, is your daughter moving towards a Bachelors degree afterwards? Has she checked to see if there are any internal challenge exams for entry level math? Like Math 100? Some colleges have these type of exams, it's similar to a CLEP and they will award credit for these challenge exams or an exemption. If your daughter has failed CLEP College Algebra, ask admissions or advisor if she can get the required credit if she passed CLEP College Math instead, it's a 100 level exam and easier than College Algebra. There are many options, you just need to know what is acceptable at the school and what is not...

A couple other resources that might help her, no matter which direction she ends up going:
https://www.khanacademy.org/ - 100% free; I think ALEKS is better, but Khan Academy can be helpful to some students.
https://brilliant.org/ - $9.99/mo (normally $12.99/mo), billed annually. Discount codes available. But it looks like you can access at least some lessons without entering a CC#. Sign up, then when it asks you to enter CC information... don't. Just exit out of the page and go back to the brilliant.org homepage.

As already stated, it's $25 for each attempt. Then $400 per class to transcript. This is a huge discount over what it used to be. When the classes were on edX, it was $49 to take the class for credit + a $600 transcription fee!

Do you want the good news or bad news first?
The Good News
With being one course away from graduation, getting that diploma is within reach.
The Bad News
You will need to go HAM and put in around 200 hours to finish this up, likely over 2-3 months. You will also need to spend whatever it takes to pass this course.
Battle Plan
- Take notes like you never took notes before. Write down every problem and every formula. Figure out why you don't know how to solve something. Buy a 100-200-page notebook.
- Buy REA CLEP College Algebra on eBay for around $10
- Do free Khan Academy and look into paying for Brilliant.org, as Rachel83az said
- Buy the best calculator that is allowed on CLEP and ASU. You need to learn what the calculator can solve and what it can't solve. You need to know how to be a calculator Ninja.
- Buy tutoring service. You will need a mentor to hold your hand through these math problems. Look to buy 20-40 hours of tutoring.
Your Options
- Do ASU. At $25, it's cheap to see how this goes.
- Do the CLEP in 2 months. Then you will need Peterson's and score at least 60% on the practice exams to have a good chance at passing the CLEP.
- Do an SNHU course for $960 if that will work for a transfer. They use ALEKS, so you need to use it first to get comfortable.
Wrap Up
Math is math, so it's somewhat the same regardless of where you learn algebra. Switching things up should keep you from becoming bored or frustrated. In addition, you need to find something that works for you.
Math is fun till it gets annoying. And for some, it gets annoying pretty fast! But it's just a matter of breaking math to individual concepts and learning each one.
Remember that people have no special math gene, so don't get caught up in self-limiting beliefs.
