Marshall, is that you?????

Thanks everybody for the kind words and support. As always...you guys (and gals) overwhelm me!Smile

It's good to be back home again. It's nice to see my ole crew back in effect!!! Shoto, Marianne, Lindagerr, Categ, Peace123, Jadechow, Cookderosa, & Clep101. I'm still missing my buddy DC67 and a whole host of others.

I realized why I had the year that I had and the main reason is that I have a history of recidivism. And the funny part is...just when you think you're learning something...you start to realize that you don't know diddly squat...(I did this just for you Marianne cause I know you get a kick outta that!!)

As stated before, I can't afford to have another year like I did last year. I made a promise to myself that I'm going to stop "self-sabotaging" myself because at the end of the day, the only person I have to blame is myself. I am learning that I need to get outta my own way.

Just wanted to say thanks to everybody for their continued support. I really do love this forum and the people that I've grown accustomed to. I am grateful to have you all in my life...even though I've never met any of you!!!

I wish you all well on your journey. LET'S KICK BUTT in 2010!

Peace be with you all.

From a loyal degree seeker,

Marshall

P.S: JADECHOW...I took your advice and am looking into the GRE Psychology...I think I'm gonna shoot for the April test and use the entire month of March to study for it. I'm praying for a minimum of 15 credits. I'm going to call Excelsior on Monday for a complete breakdown to see what I will need to score in order to obtain the credits I need. Thanks for the advice....and by the way...you totally ROCK as a person!!! Love ya

Marshall,

You came back here to the support and friendship that will help you be successful, so you do know diddley squat! We will make our goals in 2010 because we have each other to lean on. A few of us are eligible to graduate from EC in July...we should try to make a pact to meet up and truly celebrate our accomplishments. It would be so nice to put faces to names and congratulate each other in person. It would also provide some needed prodding to keep us motivated and on track. We will keep you moving forward! Glad to have you back!

Marshall,
I don't know if Alissa was on the board when you were here last, but she is an AMAZING resource for the Psych GRE. She totally Aced it and put together a wealth of resources that she used along the way. I'm sure she'd be happy to help you out.

She's kind of the "go to" person for that test. Also, the GRE subject tests are in the specific exam feedback section now. Please, as always, let me know if I can help. So glad you're back, Man.

Best to you,
Kelly

Exactly so. She's the "go to" person for all the GRE tests it seems!

Good to see another familiar face return to IC-dom.

Hey thanks again everybody!

Farmerboy...how you been man!!! Congratulations again on finishing your Bachelors Degree...:hurray:

To JadeChow & Marianne: I spoke with a Liberal Arts Advisor today and she informed me that if I take the GRE Psych exam...I will duplicate 12 lower level credits:

- Introductory Psychology
- Introduction to Educational Psychology
- Human Growth & Development
- & 3 credits from my Social Science & History CLEP

So of course...I wasn't feelin' to chipper about taking this exam since I'm already screwed 12 credits from the gate. And on top of that...she stated that I would need to score a minimum of 620 just to earn 3 UL credits.

My goal was to earn 9 UL credits so that way I could eliminate three UL courses needed from my Bachelors. But judging by what I'm looking at right now...I'm not willing to plunk $160 for an exam, study for 30 to 45 days, and run the risk of getting absolutely no credits out of the deal. I do believe in my abilities somewhat, but even this has me--banghead

So I think I'm gonna pass on the GRE.

Just keepin' everybody updated.

And Marianne...I got your pm...thanks for the support!

Welcome back!

I would just take 3 UL ECE Psych exams and be done in three weeks...that's what I did for my BSLS (I took 5 of them...see specific exam feedback as I & others wrote lengthy feedbacks) Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks BasketWeaver for the advice.

You know I thought about the ECE exams for my upper level credit. I guess the only thing that worries me about that is paying $235+ upfront for an exam and run the risk of not passing. I mean for $13 more bucks I can take a correspondence course through Arkansas State University for $248 and includes books!!! It just doesn't seem like much incentive really.

But I really do despise courses and classrooms so if I need to I may do just that (ECE exams)

Thanks again!

Dude,
There are other subjects for the GRE you know!! Wink

But, I am so sorry that it didn't work out for you. I was really hoping that might be "the ticket" for you. I'll keep thinking and see what happens. Probably nothing - but you never know. hilarious

Have a good one,
Kelly
