Hi everybody i'm trying to hash out what I still need for my BSBA (General Mgmt).
Way back in 1997 I took Accounting II at the local community college and remember very little about it, although i'm pretty sure credits go on the left and debits on the right.
So is Managerial Accounting and Accounting II normally one in the same?

They are sort of close. There is some overlap. There are 2 separate Straighterine courses that gave me 2 upper level class credits through ACE and were accepted for 6 hours UL at Liberty. I did manageriall first and was able to complete Acc II in a short period with the overlap. Both classes taught me that debits go on the left.

TESC will probably count Accounting II as Managerial Accounting. TESC has sort of strangely decided that Straighterline's accounting I and II will count as financial and managerial accounting. Their financial and managerial accounting courses count as intermediate accounting I and cost accounting.

Not exactly. The combination of Accounting I & II is considered equivalent to the combination of Financial and Managerial Accounting. The individual courses may, but are more likely to NOT be directly equivalent.
Essentially, the material covered in first-year accounting courses is covered in a different order with the Accounting I and Accounting II approach mixing financial and managerial accounting in each course.
BTW, debits left, credits right.

I'm nearly sure that 1997 accounting credits would have expired in 2007, There is a limit of business credits in most schools that are older than ten years old. You should consider this before you try and transfer them in.
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum :

Maybe I should retake them considering I didn't know which side debits and credits go on! The business classes I have were moved into my Air Force CCAF associates degree in 2007...hopefully this will extend their life.
