That's odd, because none of their courses on the GEC list work for both areas. Sciences are generally either a Physical OR Biological science. And I can't see taking a lab when one isn't needed.
I will let her know that she should just take something before enrolling.

YourPace has its own science courses that aren't available on campus so they don't show up in the GEC list. They would have to take one of these science courses at UMPI. I would take my science course elsewhere! The lab one I know is a nightmare. I have not heard good things about the other one either.

She has actually taken C451: Integrated Natural Science from WGU years ago, so maybe they will accept that as a Physical Science course! If so, that would be awesome. She has 90cr (actually more), and I don't want her to get bogged down at UMPI, nor do I want her to spend extra money if she doesn't need to take a course.
I think I'll have her apply to see where that science course comes in, and then she can decide whether to take something outside of UMPI before the fall (that's when she wants to start). She's taking Spanish at ICC now.

Her class isn't a physical science at UMPI. Here's how the transfer database has it listed. It's a UL bio course! It does not apply to the GEC.

Integrated Natural Science
BIO 4XX

If I had a choice, I would recommend this as well... Environmental Science at Sophia.org may be a suitable option.

$99 for a single course is not really worth it - I think she can take Astronomy or Enviro Science at ICC instead.

Yes she can complete either one of those. Both work for 3D of the GEC.

For $99/month, yes, just taking 1 course may not be ideal. But if they're doing 1 course in 7 days, that can be 4 courses on Sophia.org and that'll be exactly $25/course. A course at ICC would be $35, $20/month + $15/proctor exam... it's personal preference is where it really boils down to. For 1 course, ICC wins. For more courses that's offered at Sophia.org, I'll take that route.

She has 114 credits already and the entire GEC fulfilled except that single course. No need to do Sophia when she really just needs that 1 course.
