Has anyone taken TECEP exams on a Mac, remotely?
I recently had THE WORST experience with CLEP remote proctoring via their offshore vendor for it, Proctortrack. Which wouldn't even let me use a USB mouse without freezing their system, because their persistent app sniffer running in the background detects a device driver they haven't whitelisted. It's secure, sure. Just completely, pathetically, unusable - on Windows 11; they don't even let you schedule an exam on a Mac never mind take it.
I'm really hoping I do not encounter any Mac OS compatibility issues with Sophia and Study.com as well. Have any fellow Mac users here had any issues with any of these course/exam providers?

I have zero experience using Mac for TECEPs. They use ProctorU with rhe guardian browser which might need reliable internet signal. Proctors were always ok with me using a USB mouse on my exams with Windows.

I've completed all three of these on a Mac with reliable broadband with no problem, TECEP proctored exams, Sophia full courses including all assessments with the biometric keyboard challenge that's their form of proctoring, and Study.com full courses including proctored exams.

Correct! When you create your Sophia account, it will ask you to type a sentence or so. Then as you complete courses, before some tests, it will ask you to type probably the same passage, and compare the typing patterns. Ideally, do each of these using the same keyboard. If a problem comes up with the typing detection a customer service representative can probably help you resolve it.

Yes and it does not work well on tablets at all. It' works well on like a laptop or desktop keyboard but there's something with tablets that it just doesn't work well. Maybe because we don't type the same on a screen as we do a physical keyboard?

One or two times when I first got Sophia, they would reject typing verification on the cellphone. After I complained it was a recurring problem, they did some tweak and I haven't been flagged. I can use Sophia on the cellphone without major issues (except for the ab courses). I still prefer doing exams on a computer because the screen is larger

Lol, it's not designed to work with tablets.

Laugh all you want. Many people only have a tablet or a phone. I know several people who have had to use a tablet to take Sophia exams. THey made it work.
