MBA from Hellenic American University (HAU)

I have no direct experience with HAU, but website errors usually have no bearing on the quality of education that is available. That section was probably delegated to one random intern who forgot to do something important recently and everything broke.

This is almost certainly the case and I wouldn't worry too much about it. Similar situations have happened even to huge companies like Google (they let their domain name registration lapse once!), it's something that can easily get overlooked.

That's pretty funny. Google letting themselves expire. There's usually 1 person in charge of these things and if they leave the company often times no one has a clue about it.

That makes complete sense, thank you all for the insight. To a non-techie like me clicking on a link like that with a big ACCOUNT SUSPENDED was a little jarring so I figured I would ask. My initial hope was that someone currently enrolled in the program would have some insight as I could imagine that would be the subject of an internal e-mail if links down. I can't imagine how costly a mistake that could have been for Google if someone else snapped up their domain name. Gave me a chuckle to read that too and reminded me of the time that Bill Gates got the blue screen of death at the Windows 98 rollout many years ago. Yes, I'm THAT old.

The website has always been sub-par, to say the very least. As a student, you never have any need to interact with the website, so it has no effect on the educational experience.

This isn't a big time school with an enormous marketing budget. It's a school that exists to get you from point A (not having a degree) to point B (having a degree). I consider it like a smaller, newer, even less well-known Amberton.

That said, the courses are informative and the workload is dense but doable. Thus far I feel like the assignments have done a really good job at congealing my learning into creative practical application. It's been a good experience overall, despite the fact that I do have some complaints- like I would with any school.

Lucky for them, a former Google employee (who was on good terms with the company) actually snapped it up and was the owner of Google.com for a few minutes while it was all being resolved.

They paid the former employee $6,006.13 ("GOOGLE") for his trouble. For as big of a catastrophe as that could have been, $6k is peanuts.

Wow, they really did get off lucky there. That could have cost them an arm and a leg.

Just noticed this reply now. Thanks for weighing in and giving some information about the school. I'm a small-town guy at heart and I'm okay with a small-time school as well, suits me just fine.  The people I have dealt with to this point have been very helpful and I have high hopes!!

I had to email HAU for something else and mentioned the MBA site being down. Dean Martin told me they were aware of the issue, and were having technical difficulties.

As a quick update to this thread. I just got accepted for the next intake on March 28th. They said the spots are limited. They allowed it to be conditional as my degree may be conferred after the start date of the program. It took one day from them receiving my registration package til approval. Me being Canadian and living in Canada was not an issue. Everyone has been really nice to work with so far and super flexible.

Have a great day all!
