I'd suggest looking into Straighterline. All their stuff can be done online and it's ACE approved (of course check w/ your college before signing up). It's just a thought. A link is Online Courses - Distance Learning Courses - Online Classes for College Credit - StraighterLine
Exactly my thought. I'm thinking of building a BSBA(GM) degree plan using mostly Straighterline and Aleks courses for credits as much as possible, this would cut down my travel expenses. Are there any more online self-paced BSBA specific courses that I can take to replace CLEP and DSST?
Next option is to plan on taking 3-4 tests each time I travel to these distance test centers. The Singapore center will hold the completed exam papers for up to 5 days before shipping back to the U.S., so this could potentially save on courier fees if I do multiple papers over the 5 day period. This route is very ambitious and need extra planning to pull it off.

Here's the info for that DSST center, good luck with it.

Thanks for the heads up, I have checked with MACEE but they have since stopped administering DSST and CLEP exams. I inquired with Prometric M'sia they too are not into testing them. So my options are really limited, looks like traveling to S'pore and Manila for tests is unavoidable. I hope to develop a degree plan using mostly SL and Aleks to cut down on traveling and if I do, to test out as many papers as possible in one trip.
AirAsia flies to Clark and not the main airport in Manila so there is still some traveling though they are cheap. I think Cebu Pacific being a little pricier is better as they land in Manila with better connectivity to the test center. How was your experience with Manila, how many days in advance do you have to book with the test center to take your tests? Where do you take your DSST exams? Thanks for any feedback.

The testing center in manila was cool. Good location right downtown, really friendly staff. They just had a policy that you could only write one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I finished early and wanted to get more done in a shorter period. If you need to do the composition, then I recommend you tell them long in advance, as they need to order the essay materials in advance. Otherwise it wasn't a problem. I can send you the contact e-mail if you have trouble contacting them. Like I said earlier, I did DSST in HK and I don't recommend it. Paper based, very expensive, it was a bad decision to go there.
I noticed there's a DSST testing center in Hanoi. Also, there appear to be tons in Japan/Korea as well. Strangely, there don't seem to be any DSST places in Philippines. by the way, why not fly out through clark and have a little "credit party" in Angeles City with all the debauchery there
Sounds like it was meant to be.

OE800_85,
Sent you a pm regarding Manila email. "Credit party"...lol guess we can do that after conferral. I'm still checking out if there are any more testing centers around me before planning on which subjects to take. Looks like it takes more planning than expected for international students, with testing centers being so few and far.
Concur with your bad experience with paper based DSST, it seems the Singapore center is just about as expensive, reason am looking for another option. On another note, I received info the AMIDEAST in Dubai is a full fledged testing center for both DSST and CLEP, but doesn't look practical to me being more than twice the distance to Manila. Hanoi, I couldn't get a reply from them, Japan/Korea is about same distance to Dubai, may as well test out in Dubai since they offer both DSST and CLEP. Cheers.
