That’s really sad. I’ve seen Argosy advertisements in the past.

"Scott Peck, 50, left behind a six-figure salary in software sales and consulting and cashed out his 401(k) savings to pay for his doctorate in clinical psychology at an Argosy University school."

WHAT??????
First off, those are separate things. If he really was leaving his career and using his 401k to fund education, there's nothing wrong with that. It's better to use 401k money than an unsubsidized student loan anyway.
Separately, that he went for a doctorate as his "introduction" to psychology is curious. Is that really the first step in pursuing a career in a social science field? Maybe we want to start with psych101 and a job in human services just to see if we're making a good plan?
