Ok, so you got half of what is the highest score by using all B. How many times can you listen to the audio portion?

You can only listen to the audio once per question.

I took the CLEP practice exam and I scored 60/84. I did not read through the reading portion more than once, as I thought that would not be allowed on the CLEP, but it looks like it may be allowed. Would getting about 71-80% correct on the CLEP achieve a score of 60 or higher?

Zachcleigh Wrote:Hi my name is Zach.
I've recently joined these forums and begun my standardized testing journey. So far, I've manage to clep out of algebra, precalculus, sociology, psychology, and college composition. I am attempting all of these exams so that I can transfer the credits to my college (University of Alaska Fairbanks) in order to save some money and more importantly.. Time.
UAF seems to offer something that's rather uncommon. They will give 1 class worth of foreign language credit for a score of only 39. 2 classes for 50. 3 for 55. And 4 for 60.
I took a year of German way back, 5 years ago. I remember none of it. However, I feel that achieving a score of 39 might be possible just by plain guessing. For example picking B or C for every answer.
I'm not looking to throw around money... But if there's a reasonable possibility that I could get a 39 purely by chance. I think the risk to reward ratio might just be too tempting.
I'm curious as to thoughts anyone has about this idea, and if anyone has attempted something similar.

Always looking to take one step forward.

Sorry to hear about your German experience- might be worth a try in 3 months. That's totally close with just clicking B!!
I don't know if your university accepts it, but you might also try College Math- it's 100 level and you're already well ahead of it in skill. Also, if they accept Analyzing and Interpreting Literature, it's a straight reading comprehension exam with a handful of literature terms thrown in for good measure.

They accept college math but only as elective credit. Which would be fine... But the catch is they'll only grant you up to 6 credits if you have no math credit. Or the difference of 6 minus whatever you already have. So since I have 12 math credits I'd get zip for taking that exam. And sadly they don't take analyzing lit Sad

that's a bummer- either way, looks like they have plenty of others to choose from! What's next for you?

I'm taking the dsst statistics exam Wednesday of next week.
I'm currently studying for micro, macro, and Spanish cleps (I'm better at Spanish than German by a long shot :roflol: ).
And I need to take the Chem clep but it scares me. Just being honest.... Haha.

If you retake German, maybe clicking C on all of them will get you a pass. Smile
