Edit: This came across as me condoning cheating, I don't. I do appreciate the tools provided that work for my learning style. Sorry for any confusion, just trying to be helpful.

I couldn't even get through the personal finance course, and there was no placement test for it. I said, "Screw this," and decided to pay for the rest of my credits.

It is if you use it to answer questions for each quiz. Hopefully people don't exploit this and get the option taken away because I use it to study fo the finals and going over what I missed if I score at least a 60% after 3 tries.

It probably will not feel like "winning" when someone cheats and fails the final, wasting $100, and not learning a damn thing.

Yeah, y'all definitely took this the wrong way. Or I explained poorly. Or a mixture of both.

I use it to verify my quiz answers but that final is all me. Just like a clep.

Hopefully someone else has a similar learning style to me and can appreciate the tip. I know I did when I saw it elsewhere on here.

It depends on the individual. I am, personally, much faster at testing. I study for a few hours and take a test soon after. When I took SL courses, I think it took me a few days, cumulatively, to finish my courses. However, I wasn't able to work on the courses on consecutive days, so I ended up taking a month to finish two courses. Study.com courses take way too much time. I can't sit at a computer for 8 hours a day trying to knock out one of their courses quickly.

I agree about the testing - I can't get to our local test centers conveniently with the family schedule, so I go with the things I can do at home. You have a really good point, too, about the Study.com classes - they can take a loooooong time if you watch the videos (I just skim the transcripts), and/or if you read slowly, and/or if the material is completely new to you. I tried to do the sociology, which was new to me...and I wanted to scoop my brain out with a salad fork. It was awful. I gave up after about 4 lessons. Instead, I went with World Religions, which I knew a bit about, and zipped through it. Same for the computer stuff, history/government, etc. Stuff that I'd seen before, I could rip through pretty quickly.

Per Sanatone: my courses over all won't change (aside from the ones that I did change...:p), but the method on how I take these courses on could change, especially once that I could double up on i.e Micro/macroeconomics or ones that I feel would just take to long like a couple straighterline courses.

There's a couple of issues - one is the pricing for these courses are not entirely correct and there are other options for the ed4credit/Sophia courses.
If you're adamant in taking these courses, you can take the Environmental Science course at Davar or use Straighterline for it, cheaper than $279.
Since we're taking a course at Davar, the MIS course offered from ed4credits is also offered from them, at $70 vs the $195 at ed4credit.

What about saylor too? Wouldn't that drop your total cost quite a bit as well?
