Looking for Black Star Sapphire stone

I am trying to find a 12mmX10mm Oval cut Cabochon "Black Star Sapphire" stone. I am planning on building a graduation ring and setting that stone in the middle. I saw a ring with that stone a couple of years ago and I now want one. I have the jeweler that will make me the ring, and place the stone for me.
Every site I find seems to be from out of the country. I was wondering if there might be some ladies here that probably know more about jewelry than me, if they know of any place here in the US that sells these stones by themselves. They look golden brown and when you shine a light to it, they reflect a nice 6 pointed star. Any help would be appreciated.

Love the idea; I am actually a custom/estate jewelry fiend! If you have a local jewelry exchange (in NJ there is usually a site with about 30-60 dealers and jewelers/jewelry makers under one roof) you might want to talk to either the dealers or one of the jewelers in the back shops...they can usually get you any stone near cost. You can also call around to the large pawn shops in your area. This is where I find the majority of estate pieces. Also check ebay, sellers of estate sales are in abundance. Just be sure the seller has excellent feedback and use credit card through paypal this way if they try to get over you can always send back and do a chargeback.


FYI, years back I purchased quite a few pieces from a shop in texas, the name was fiestabell or fiestapawn something like that. Excellent quality pieces.
