Someone on reddit was able to transfer Sophia web development in to WGU to satisfy C779. So for any future WGU students, I highly recommend the Sophia option for that class to save a lot of time during your term.

Edit: fixed link:

That was fast! It's already showing as an official transfer possibility. See: https://partners.wgu.edu/Pages/Single.as...062&pid=86

Whoa, that's great that Sophia was added to the official WGU transfer partners page. I see a few others were recently added as well.

Hi guys, I know this is an old post, but I'm reading through it to see about Sophia transfer credits, and now I'm majorly confused.

Just to pull two examples, the email from the adviser said that they don't accept foundations of statistics or foundations of English composition, however, on WGU's page, it says that they accept both for the degree requirements.

So, should I follow the email from the adviser in the above post, or should I follow WGU's transfer agreement here: https://partners.wgu.edu/Pages/Single.as...062&pid=67

Have you already applied and been accepted into WGU? If you have, then you can't transfer in anymore courses. WGU doesn't accept additional transfer credit once you've been accepted. If not, then listen to your advisor. It's very rare that any school will accept the foundations classes.

No, I haven't applied to the school yet. I'm just creating a game plan and I read earlier up in this post that someone received an email from their advisor that the foundational classes weren't accepted, however it says the classes are accepted on their own website, so I'm confused.

I would ask the advisor to clarify the discrepancy between their advice and the published transfer agreement. Advisors are not registrars, and can get things wrong.

Just wanted to point out that this is false. You can be accepted and still transfer in more credits. You just can't transfer more in once you begin your classes(I think 15 days before, to be specific). I was accepted and delayed the beginning of my program to make sure I could transfer in some courses I was doing at a traditional college.

Not what I was told by my enrollment counselor at WGU. I was told that credits could not be transferred in after I was accepted. I have not started classes. Not even close. You delayed the start of your program. That maybe the difference.

Well I also finished a few study.com courses and submitted them at the last minute. To be fair, I think a lot of the enrollment counselors just say whatever's most convenient for them. I'm pretty active in a few WGU centric communities and have never heard of them refusing to accept additional credits after you're "accepted." Could be a brand new policy, could be a misinformed counselor, or could be a counselor trying to avoid extra steps.

obviously you tell your enrollment to look at this page and see that the courses ARE listed as acceptable

I was able to transfer in classes after I was accepted. It wasn't until I officially enrolled and accepted the enrollment agreement that transfers were no longer allowed.
