Okay, so I have not looked at algebra for almost 15 years and never had anything but 101 (15 years ago). I need a math class but don't know which way to go. I need something basic, I am no mathmatician, but something that will fill that requirement. Anyone have a suggestion?

ALEKS Statistics, depending on your degree requirements; if the requirement is 'college level math,' then Stats should do the trick and is quite cost-effective and can be completed quickly. Check out the ALEKS thread for more info.

BTW, if you're a TESC Business student, you may be interested to hear that TESC counts Intro to Stats as a general introductory math statistics course, and counts Business Stats as an UL Business course. There's a huge amount of overlap in the two, so doing both is pretty much like getting double credit for the same base knowledge. Smile

I have heard that straighterline.com is another good way to go for this. You take non timed non proctered exams at the end, transfer through one of the partner colleges to yours. Worth checking out I believe!

The only requirement for the Liberal studies degree at Excelsior is their College Math (or any other college level math), which is nothing more than Elementary Mathematics. It is very, very, very, easy.

If anyone is looking for an easy math, Excelsior college math is the way to go. You will just have to put up with 15 weeks to get the final grade.

Here's some sample questions of my book:

1. 5/3

Is the fraction above is a:
a. Proper fraction
b. Improper fraction
c. mixed fraction

2. find the perimeter of the rectangle.
(add all all sides)

3. Round the number to the nearest hundredth
234.97654

4. Write the ratio of 2.6 to 3.1 as a fraction in simplest terms

5. Find the value of the unknown number n.
