Hello, First off, I have to say that I have been lurking on here for almost 4 years, this site as been amazing. I finished my Bachelor of Social Science through TESU. I did 60 credits in 8 months because of this amazing site. I used my degree to get a teaching licensure. I am currently an Intervention Specialist through a local school district since 2016. Now, I plan to obtain my Masters degree. I chose Liberty.edu to use the military grad rate of 275 and use the Teach Grant. My issue that I am having is that Liberty seems to be giving me the run around. I have been dealing with them since June 15 or so. I applied, accepted, scheduled classes and they keep telling me that I have to wait for the teach application to "pop" up on my account to even fill out. I have already had to change my Masters program to something else to meet requirements. I was going for Masters of education in instruction, elementary level. Well 3 weeks later, when I called to check about Teach, I was told that it wouldn't work and that was why I hadn't received anything on the Teach grant. Okay, I changed my Masters program, but now I get an email that states that the 2018-2019 list for approved programs isn't out so they can't give me a Teach application at this time. Classes starts the 27th of August. They say, well just wait and keep an eye out on it to come in. They can't give me a time frame and communication about this sounds like no one knows what they are doing at this college. I don't want to use student loans when I can get everything paid for through this teach grant. I am wondering why they made me change my major when this supposed list isn't even out yet. Has anyone else had issues with Liberty? Or has used this Teach grant? I honestly don't want to keep wasting my time with them. I feel that they are giving my excuses or no answers at all, and they are pushing these student loans on me. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
