TESU's 1 credit Cornerstone course - Can I shmoop/SL that?
#1
TESU requires 1 credit in Lifelong Learning Strategies - Cornerstone.

Anybody know of a course that satisfies this requirement somewhere that's NOT at TESU?

Get the free Study.com Guardian scholarship (or pay for a study.com membership) and get the TESU/Study.com partnership deal (huge discount on tuition and residency waiver fee) and it waives the cornerstone requirement

No, that one can only be taken at TESU. However, the Study.com affiliation waives the requirement for it altogether.

Why would you want to waive it? Its rather cheap compared to other TESU courses, takes less than 20 mins to do and grants your residency for a year. Better than doing a TECEP of something, was less stress. And if you combine that with the two free Sophia courses, in less than 2 hours of your time you would have earned 3 credits, not bad at all.

Because it's an unnecessary class that is more expensive than alternative gen ed credits. Just use your Capstone or TECEP you actually need if your worried about being enrolled (which I believe is what you mean by "residency," because residency is something else entirely that most of us opt out of)

Because $300 for one credit is very expensive compared to the usual providers, plus the content is not useful to most of us. If you need to get enrolled and can't take the capstone, then use a TECEP which is a third the price for three units and is actually useful.

A TECEP that you actually can use in your degree (and even better, an UL one that will fit in your AOS) is a much better deal than the cornerstone.

I admit, I took it - but only because I needed 1 more credit for residency (I'm under the old plan that let you use TECEP's for residency), I needed to take something before my year was up, and it was fast and easy. But certainly not cheap.

"Why would you want to waive it?"

It being a waste of time and money is why I waived it. Others are free to do whatever they want to do obviously but I already had required classes I needed to take from TESU, like Historical Methods and the Capstone, so I preferred to spend my time on those.

I took it, because I didn't know what was in it.

.... you don't need it. I can almost guarantee it.

The study.com route is much smarter, even if you only take a single course from them.
