Huh, I did not know that APU took them. That is very interesting. That might make some of their programs more appealing. Still don't know if I can shake the for-profit jitters, though.
I tried several e-mails to Guam CC, I tried calling, I tried automated requests for information, and I never heard back from them. Not sure what was going on a few months ago, but I just wanted to let people know in case they tried and failed and wondered what the heck was going on.

Guam CC seemed shocked that anyone from the mainland would be interested in receiving FEMA credit through them. I went back and forth with the director of their program and he finally told me it was a local program only. He based this on their requirement for students in the program to sit for additional courses such as G300 and G400 locally...this despite their availability to me locally here in Florida.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

If one is going to choose a for-profit school, then APUS would be one of the better ones. It's definitely much better than going to Deprive University or University of Penis.

I wouldn't be ashamed of an affiliation with AMU/APU...by all accounts it is for profit done right. Their huge penetration into military circles will continue to reinforce their reputation.
For my money you would be better served at one of the Big 3 though.....of course TESC sort of self selected out for the purposes of this particular thread though.

If one really wants to use FEMAs, then I would go with COSC. To me, the $79 per credit hour one would have to pay to launder the courses through FCC and transfer to Excelsior is not worth it. The only problem is that COSC only offers general studies associates degrees. They do, however, offer a public safety bachelors. But, the OP should really look to see which APS courses are ACE-approved. ACE credits have wider acceptance than just the plain FEMA IS courses.
