LAPU Ascend CBE MS in Instructional Design and Technology

Los Angeles Pacific University (LAPU) offers a self-paced, subscription-priced CBE MS in Instructional Design and Technology. Tuition is $2500 per 4-month term. LAPU estimates average time to completion as 16 months, for a total $10 000. But “Designed as an ‘all you can eat’ subscription model, you can complete as much as you're able to for a flat rate.”

The program is 30 credits: 12 in Technical Foundation, 9 in Professional Scholarship, 9 in Management.

The MS in IDT is the only program currently offered through Ascend, LAPU’s name for its competency-based education program.

A Christian non-profit, LAPU is part of the Azusa Pacific University System. LAPU originates in the online and adult and professional studies divisions of Azusa Pacific University, and became regionally accredited as a separate institution in 2018. The Azusa Pacific University System is Evangelical inter-denominational with a Wesleyan Holiness heritage.

I would love to know how long it actually takes to complete this program (and how that relates to the comparable degree at WGU).

I hope the school has good luck with this program and they expand to offer other CBE degrees.

Intriguing offering, 10K for a MS Instructional Design & Tech, it can rival those offered by WGU for those who are international students, and also rival offerings from ACE.edu, good find as it gives an extra option to complete a similar degree path...
