Principles of Supervision - amount of study time?
#1
Hi,

I'm new to this forum. I have about 12 courses to finish in order to complete my BS at Wayland Baptist University and one of the academic advisors suggested taking the DSST Principles of Supervision test. Looking through the forum, it appears that this test is perceived as rather easy. I am running through the IC questions currently and wonder what amount of time I should devote to studying prior to taking the exam. Any feedback on what I can expect on this exam would be most appreciated, as well.

Thanks!

Hi Alaskan,

Principles of Supervision is certainly one of the 'easier' exams available (in my opinion). If you study Instantcert to the point where you feel comfortable with all the material, you will likely do well on the exam.

How long it takes you to get to that point is up to you. Some people may take a couple of days to master the material. Others may take a more leisurely approach and study a little bit each night for a week.

Make sure that you understand the EXPLANATIONS for each item on Instantcert. It's not about filling in the blanks correctly, it's about learning the information. As soon as YOU feel knowledgable enough, take the exam.

In addition, the following link will allow you to access the Official DSST Study Guide book. It has a whole section of material and mock questions for the Principles of Supervision exam.

Instantcert and the Official DSST book provided ample study material for me to pass this exam. Obviously, you don't want to take this, or any, exam for granted. But if you study hard, you will come out smiling!
hilarious

CLEP Principles of Management goes hand-in-hand with this exam. You might want to study for both of them simultaneously if you can use the Management credits.

Feel free to ask as many questions as you like. There are a ton of people here who have valuable experience taking most of these exams.

Best of luck,
