Is there Financial Aide for credit by exam?

I'm just curious. I have a degree plan in front of me, but I'm looking at over 7 grand going through TESU.

No, not for challenge exams.

It sounds like you have one of my plans. I put in $100/course or exam as an average. But, you can do a LOT to make it less. 1) Enroll at Modern States and take every CLEP exam possible. Every one is free. 2) Take every free course available. 3) Take ALEKS for your math, $20/mo. 4) Take Saylor courses for any remaining options, $25/exam. 5) Use SL, take multiple courses in a single month; use coupons. 6) Use Study.com, take more than 2 courses in a month; use coupons if there are any. I show that you can save about $2500 this way (so total of $4500 for a BSBA).

You can also look at COSC, they have a similar structure for their BSBA (if that's what you're taking) and they will accept free FEMA credits. You can use those for a lot of your "free electives" (not sure what COSC calls these). Same as TESU in my advice on 1-6 above. COSC requires a lab science, I would recommend Study.com's Bio w/Lab, plus an UL course in the major. It's only an extra $40 for the virtual lab access.

Also, I'm not an expert on financial aid, but I've heard that if you enroll somewhere like a CC, and get financial aid as a FT student there, then there may be extra money, and you can use that for exams.

All offered excellent advice- and be sure to use all the free study resources too, or those very affordable like InstantCert, or even your public library.

Current tuition at TESU for out of state students is just about $10,000 per year - or $40,000 all in.
Using credit by exam and the resources in this thread already saved you $33,000 and you can probably to a bit better with good planning. By the time you've written a very well-planned degree and executed it carefully, you're looking at 85-90% "scholarship" compared to the other students attending TESU traditionally. If coming up with the cash is difficult, my advice is to go slowly and stretch it out. Just because you can earn a degree in under a year doesn't mean you HAVE the cash to do so (unless you do). We've had to spread out our kid's credit earning- we go at the speed of budget.

Can't believe I forgot that one! I would put that before Saylor then.  Not that the stuff I listed was in order  - like I wouldn't necessarily do SL before Study.com.  I just kind of listed in order of price.  But you can't get all of your UL's at SL.
