One of the certs I didn't want to take on WGU's timeline was the CCSP. After some research, I found out they would accept the CCSK (which is an open book test) in lieu of it. The transfer guides are a literal gold mine of information, as is this forum. Dfrecore was the one that clued me in on the MIS DSST trick.
I agree, I think MANY people who go to WGU for IT already have a background in it, and some have many years of it, and are at the point in their career where they're ready to move into upper management, but the lack of degree is holding them back.
I knew that the DSST MIS exam worked in place of the Business of IT-Apps requirement because my husband took the exam and it got put on his eval there. But it also says that in the transfer guidelines. You an also take a MIS course from Study.com or Ed4Credit. I think Saylor has something that will work there as well but can't remember.
Point is, there are easy ways to meet many of the requirements, you don't have to resign yourself to 2 terms if you can find ways to take courses/exams and reduce the number of courses you have to take, to get it to a solid 1 term.
