Is Shmoop worth it?
#1
Just curious if Shmoop is worth the cost. Thinking about working on a degree or two with TESU since my degree path is going to take me so long.

Yes. Many people can knock out 12 or more credits for only $88 total.

It can be frustrating for certain courses like Lit.

Oh yes. I began my Shmoop subscription January 25, 2018 and have knocked out twenty classes with it. Shmoop is totally worth it for the credit-earning potential; it just has some.. uh.. quirks that you'll have to get used to.

I did 3 courses in about 10 days. The format and verbiage is annoying but I feel it's worth it. I only did 3 because those were all I had left that I needed to reach my goal. Otherwise I feel I could've done a nice chunk in a month. For the record I didn't do any Lit. I hear Lit is more of a challenge.

FWIW, there's also a promo code on Retailmenot that knocks the cost down from the advertised $88 to $79/mo. Look for the 10% off code.

I've managed to pass 5 classes. I've failed 3 that I should have easily passed. I plan to try to complete 4 more before my membership expires but it's a really annoying format.

Completely worth the cost per credit.
1. Prep Phase: Hopeless, 15 credits, need a BA fast, never heard of TESU
2. TESU BALS: 121/120 (9 months)

3. RN Paramedic Bridge - Excelsior (9 months + CPNE wait)
4. WGU RN -> BSN
5. BSN -> MSN/FNP

I did quite a few Shmoop courses, it's worth it, the key is to pick topics that interest you and that others have reviewed! $88 month for UL courses is a steal!

Cost wise, yes. Time wise, depends on if you can pass the courses. I wasted a few days on one I decided not to finish and a week on one I didn't pass. But otherwise I knocked out quite a few UL in the same period of time. I easily could have done more in the same month but my study.com scholarship came in and I cancelled my membership. I didn't enjoy the format but it was really, really cheap. You could get it down to just a few dollars a credit if you work fast in one month.
