It's still there, but def toned down. The subject matter is simply too serious to warrant hipster banter. It's a very depressing course. I haven't passed it yet. I still have retakes but needed to take a break for a week or so. Returning to it this weekend.

I failed Holocaust Lit by 3%, Principles of Management by 2%. :/ All retries gone.
BTW I am Jewish and have been in management for 14 years. LOL
1. Prep Phase: Hopeless, 15 credits, need a BA fast, never heard of TESU
2. TESU BALS: 121/120 (9 months)
3. RN Paramedic Bridge - Excelsior (9 months + CPNE wait)
4. WGU RN -> BSN
5. BSN -> MSN/FNP

Don't get discouraged; get what you can for the month and move on - plenty of other options for the credits you'll need for your degree. I used Shmoop when it first came out - it is just so awkward! I did manage to complete (pass) one US History course. I felt I had never worked so hard to earn a 70 in a subject I was already knowledgeable about.

I think Holocaust Literature is written with pathos purposefully. I didn't find the course too difficult though. Like any Shmoop course, you have to read the slides and follow the links within.
