My DH is doing Shmoop finite math, but since I've never worked with Shmoop before, I'm constantly over his shoulder.
Here's what I need to know: OMG are they ALWAYS playing the "cool mentor?" Does their talking to hipster/millennials types ever go away? From what I can see, the reading is loaded with a few too many play on words and "cooler than thou" banter.
I don't need to take the course, but I'm getting annoyed for DH! Am I too old or not hip enough or have I just stumbled across a few funny pages.
Sorry... such a dumb question, but I just have to know!

ROFLMAO. If I had been drinking something, it would have been spit out all over the place. So they're annoying the Gen X'ers like myself but missing the mark with the target audience.
Maybe they have people that frequent this board.. Would love them to know since it seems like a good service otherwise. Nice to have as many credit options as possible.

I always thought they were appealing to the post-millennial / generation Z junior and senior high school crowd. The fact they offer college credits is beside the point since they use the same style for everything.
Working on: Debating whether I want to pursue a doctoral program or maybe another master's degree in 2022-23

It's getting awful for me. I was a big fan until this last round. I don't know if I can do the 9 units I need there anymore.

I don't think Shmoop is that different from how Crash Course does all those little annoying things in their videos.
