Hello everyone, I'm an international student from Asia currently in my first year at a university here. My major is Finance, but I'm looking to transfer to UMPI's BLS program by completing online credits and using my existing transcript. I have a few questions:
1. I'm currently in my first year at an Asian university and expect around 50 credits, though they haven't been WES certified yet. While I know my calculus and college algebra will be recognized, does this mean I can skip similar courses on platforms like Sophia?
2. I've taken various general education courses in Asia with some having GPA and others just pass/fail. I'll submit them all to WES for evaluation. If WES and courses from Sophia overlap, which one takes precedence? I lean towards graded credits.
3. Apologies as I'm a freshman and not familiar with the university system. I'm uncertain about the process of transferring credits to UMPI. My plan so far is to take general and elective courses on Sophia, pursue Google IT Support and Data Analysis certificates on Coursera (with ACE credits), and study CSE courses (230, 310, 330, 340) on ASU for a solid CS/IT foundation. I'm open to suggestions for other courses or universities. Thanks for your assistance.

I would have the WES evaluation done and take classes on Sophia that are nothing like what you've completed at your university.
UMPI will decide which will take precedence as far as university vs. Sophia courses.
Why not go for the BABA instead of BLS since you're already working on a finance degree?

Thank you everyone! I'm not in a great hurry. I plan to officially start studying at UMPI in 2024.

Thank you very much for your advice! BABA is a good idea, and I have indeed been wavering between BABA and BLS. On one hand, I want to take courses related to Computer Science in order to apply for CS/IT-related master's programs in the future. On the other hand, I'm not quite sure if a BABA degree would be helpful for applying to CS/IT master's programs (as far as I know, it is a business degree, and I am currently pursuing an offline business degree myself).

@xxZzyuu, Welcome to the board, it's a good introduction post, follow up, and you're great at asking questions, but you're missing all the important information on the addendum and template, it's best to provide a greater overview of your situation and not just a brief intro without much info for us to help you further: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

I'm from South East Asia. If you have trouble with WES then I suggest you go to the accreditation with IEE, it's very simple and I think the fee more or less the same.
Good luck. .

IMO, it'll be better/more useful for your future than the BLS degree. Outside of the US, a BLS might not be recognized as "legit", depending on the country. A valid Business degree, however, is a Business degree and should be recognized.
In progress:
TESU - BA Computer Science; BSBA CIS; ASNSM Math & CS; ASBA
Completed:
Pierpont - AAS BOG
Sophia (so many), The Institutes (old), Study.com (5 courses)
